Role Overview The Amazon Brand Manager is responsible for leading holistic brand strategy, advanced content development, and AI-driven performance optimization for a portfolio of Amazon client accounts. As the primary brand steward, this role builds sustainable brand equity, maximizes product and storefront visibility by harnessing Amazon’s latest AI ranking and recommendation systems, and activates multi-channel growth via external traffic, promotional tools, and integrated PPC/DSP. Working cross-functionally with advertising, creative, operations, and analytics teams, the Brand Manager leverages real customer data, rapid A/B testing, continuous creative iteration, and deep market insights to future-proof brand presence across all Amazon touchpoints and beyond, delivering true audience ownership, exceptional brand experiences, and sustained business growth. By coordinating campaigns, guiding cross‑pod collaboration, and safeguarding compliance, the Brand Manager delivers consistent customer experiences, sustained sales growth, and strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Brand Management • Develop and refine brand strategy using Amazon’s AI tools, cross-channel insights, and client goals • Own catalogue structure, variation logic, and listing quality (incl. flat files, edits, restock coordination) • Maintain consistent, mobile-first optimization of product listings and storefronts. • Ensure brand voice and values are reflected across all Amazon touchpoints • Maintain 90-day promotional calendars blending Amazon levers with external traffic to drive rank and profitability. • Creative Direction & Content Oversight • Lead production of high-converting, mobile-first content (images, A+, video, interactive modules) that drives engagement and sales. • Translate performance insights into creative briefs for internal/external teams ensuring every asset meets Amazon specs, brand‑voice guidelines, and emerging shopper‑behaviour trends. • Own a quarterly test-and-learn roadmap via Manage Your Experiments (MYE). • Lead content audits and recommend updates that align with performance trends and branding. • Use tools like Helium 10, DataDive, and Amazon dashboards to drive content strategy and recommend / implement data-driven updates. • Performance Insights & Optimization • Monitor KPIs (CVR, CTR, ranking, reviews, velocity) using Amazon and 3rd-party tools • Recommend optimizations based on test results, shopper behavior, and algorithm updates • Use performance data to recommend and implement strategic adjustments to improve outcomes and identify growth opportunities. • Lead monthly/quarterly reporting and client discussions to align on growth priorities • Market & Competitive Analysis • Conduct competitive audits to identify keyword gaps, market trends, and whitespace. • Use tools like Search Query Performance and Product Opportunity Explorer to inform strategy and actionable priorities. • Translate competitor findings into actionable creative and positioning changes for organic and paid growth. • Cross-Functional Collaboration • Coordinate launches, campaigns, and content updates across internal teams • Partner with PPC, Creative, Ops, and Brand Support to ensure alignment and execution • Ensure clear communication and smooth handoffs between all stakeholders. • Client Management & Communication • Serve as main contact for Amazon clients, offering strategic guidance and performance insight. • Lead regular proactive updates, strategic planning sessions, and reporting calls. • Deliver actionable data-informed recommendations that translate marketplace insights into measurable client growth and satisfaction. • Educate clients on platform updates and best practices • Document actions, next steps, and results to build transparency and trust Success & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Performance & Delivery • Input goals: • • Optimize listings and storefronts to meet latest Amazon standards and mobile-first best practices Regularly audit and refine content to improve conversion, CTR, and relevance • Output goals: • • Increase CTR, CVR, and organic rankings across key SKUs • Improve content quality scores and brand visibility metrics • Ensure all assets are mobile- and desktop-optimized, hitting key engagement benchmarks (e.g. image CTR, A+ scroll depth) • Client / Stakeholder Impact • Input goals: • • Deliver timely reports and strategic recommendations with clear next steps • Maintain proactive, transparent communication with clients • Flag and act on risks or opportunities across each account • Output goals: • • Achieve high client Input goals: • • Recommend data-led strategies to drive profitable growth • Prevent issues through structured planning and execution • Identify key upsell, cross-sell, or retention levers in QBRs • Output goals: • • Increase client lifetime value • Deliver one measurable, strategic improvement per quarter • Reduce revenue-impacting issues through better planning and early detection • Team Collaboration • Input goals: • • Align with Creative, Ads, Ops, and POD members on brand and platform standards • Lead or support projects that require cross-functional execution • Output goals: • • Deliver projects on time, to brief, and aligned to brand standards • Receive positive feedback from peers and leads • Enable smooth project handovers and escalate challenges early • Growth & Development • Input goals: • • Run at least 2 knowledge-sharing sessions per year (e.g. Amazon Sync, Lunch & Learn) • Dedicate minimum 4 hours/month to upskilling or personal development (e.g. tools training, feature deep dives) • Output goals: • • Meet or exceed goals set in annual performance review • Show year-on-year improvement in performance review scores Key Competencies & Skills Technical Skills • Expert in Seller Central, Brand Registry, and optimization aligned with Amazon’s latest search/recommendation engines (e.g. RUFUS, COSMO) • Proficient with Amazon data tools and market intelligence platforms (e.g. Brand Analytics, Helium 10, DataDive, Product Opportunity Explorer) • Solid understanding of Amazon Advertising to collaborate effectively with PPC/DSP teams • Skilled in catalogue management: flat-files, variation mapping, health dashboards, and case-log workflows • Strong analytical mindset: interprets CVR, traffic, rankings, and competitor data to identify risks and opportunities Experienced in leading content development to brand and platform standards, using briefs, A/B testing, and iterative improvements Able to translate client goals and marketplace insights into effective, data-driven brand strategies Soft Skills • Trusted advisor with strong relationship-building and high-touch client communication • Confident leading strategy calls, presenting simultaneously. • Experience in Amazon-focused agencies, marketplaces, or consumer product companies. • Familiarity with tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Amazon Brand Analytics, and others. • Understanding of Amazon PPC and how it aligns with brand strategy, though direct PPC management is not required.
