Role description
The Assistant Site Merchandiser supports the execution of merchandising strategies across digital channels to enhance the customer experience and drive online sales. This role is responsible for assisting with product setup, maintaining accurate and compelling product content, and supporting promotions and seasonal campaigns across US (English) and Canadian (English & French) websites. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced digital environment.
As our Assistant Site Merchandiser, your responsibilities will include:
• Support the timely and accurate setup of new products in the Product Information Management (PIM) system, including copy, imagery, pricing, and categorization
• Maintain product and category pages to ensure optimal placement and visibility including category changes, product descriptions, and translations (if applicable). Ensure product pages are aligned with current promotions.
• Scan the website for any issues such as incorrect pricing, missing product images, or broken links, and work to fix these issues promptly. Check for and correct any inconsistencies in product details.
• Ensure alignment with seasonal launches, promotional calendars, and visual guidelines
• Support in creating and maintaining promo codes and discounts on the website. Assist with promotional setups in systems like D365, ensuring all details are accurately reflected.
• Assist in executing site updates such as homepage refreshes, landing pages, and promotional banners
• Support the preparation of digital assets in coordination with design and marketing teams
• Coordinate seasonal product drops and collections in collaboration with merchandising and buying teams
• Monitor product and category performance using key metrics (conversion, click-through rate, sell-through)
• Moderate customer reviews and escalate any issues to the appropriate team members. Ensure all reviews are appropriately displayed on the site.
• Help review product images for compliance with company standards. Assist with resolving any image-related issues, including resizing and formatting for web compatibility.
• Assist with tracking and reporting on site performance, including product performance, traffic, and conversion metrics. Provide the team with insights and updates based on regular reporting.
• Assist in A/B testing and on-site enhancements aimed at improving the customer journey
• Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and creative teams to ensure consistency across channels
• Respond to basic customer service inquiries related to orders, product details, or shipping information. Escalate complex issues to the Senior eCommerce Specialist or relevant team.
• Help maintain the functionality of the website by performing simple troubleshooting tasks and ensuring that regular maintenance activities, such as checking for broken links, redirects, and inactive pages, are completed.
• Support with translation tasks, ensuring product descriptions and marketing content are accurately translated for the Canadian (French) market.
• Assist in updating website navigation and menus, ensuring products are easy to find and that all links are functional and organized.
If you have…
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related field
• 1–2 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or retail preferred
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.)
• Proficiency with Excel and strong attention to detail
• Understanding of digital marketing, UX/UI, and online shopping behavior
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.
