Role description
The Associate Digital Merchandiser is responsible for assisting the execution of the online merchandising strategy for defined categories within jdsports.com and finishline.com in partnership with the Sr. Digital Merchandiser and under the leadership of the Digital Merchandising Operations Manager. This role is responsible for merchandising styles on site and creating a seamless shopping experience for customers focused around product.
This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Lineβs core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:
Responsible for product set up, including categorization, filter and collection attribution and availability.
Work closely with internal teams to load or update product information on the website.
Use reporting and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics to analyze site experience and product presentation performance and optimize accordingly.
Utilize internal reporting tools to identify in-store selling trends and translate to web opportunities.
Contributes to optimizing internal search through in-depth analysis and awareness of product selection adjustments.
Collaborates with buying team to ensure that product assortment is reflected online accurately.
Works directly with buyers to create brand or category product collections to provide the customer with the best possible product selection.
Works directly in ecommerce platform tools (Commercetools) to create new product pages for promotions, email, social or other marketing needs.
Collaborates with Digital Marketing and Digital Brand teams to create relevant and compelling product stories
Monitor the marketplace and competitive set for trends and new ideas related to the online consumer shopping experience and site presentation.
Additional duties and projects as required.
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelorβs degree from a four-year college or university with a focus in Business, Merchandising, Communications or related major preferred and 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience required in Digital or eCommerce environment is preferred. Previous experience using eCommerce platforms is highly preferred. Experience in multi-vendor retailing is a plus. Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Excellent computer skills, including basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Google Suite equivalents. High degree of internet savvy, with a curiosity and enthusiasm for digital and media trends.
