Role description
Why Riverford? Each week, Riverford delivers outstanding organic food to around 65,000 homes across the UK. This takes loads of brilliant people, from veg growers and box packers to IT experts, and more besides. We’re a friendly, forward-thinking bunch, and our core values run through everything we do. Riverford is 100% employee owned, so working here makes you a ‘co-owner’ – and it’s not just a name! Everyone can play a part in shaping our business. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co-owners feel proud of. Riverford is proud to be a B Corp; the certification for ethical businesses which work to benefit people and planet. In 2022, we were named one of the Best for the World™ B Corps! This means that our positive impact on staff scored in the top 5% of all B Corps of our size worldwide. We’re thrilled to have made this year’s Top 100 UK Best Large Companies list! It’s a well-earned recognition of the hard work and passion of our co-owners, and the unique culture we’ve grown together—a place where everyone can roll up their sleeves, grow, and truly enjoy the journey. What you’ll be doing At Riverford Organic Farmers, we believe that words can connect people with their food, the land, inspire veg-curious customers, and help build a more sustainable, fairer food system. We’re looking for a commercially savvy Brand Copywriter to join our in-house creative team, balancing long-form storytelling with sharp, high-performing commercial copy. This is a rare opportunity to shape the voice of one of the UK’s leading ethical food brands, working across digital and print, from ecommerce to reports. Based on Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU. Hybrid working can be considered. Being the Guardian of Our Brand Voice • Act as the guardian of tone and copy standards across Riverford’s growing content ecosystem from brand campaigns to sales comms. • Edit Guy’s iconic weekly newsletter with speed, sensitivity and skill • Be the in-house editor for our Annual Report and Sustainability Report, helping to translate complex information into accessible, and inspiring copy. • Collaborate with CRM, social, and acquisition teams to help bridge brand storytelling and performance copy. • Triage ad hoc copy requests, providing fast, thoughtful support and keeping things consistent across all touchpoints. You’ll be part of our small but mighty brand team, working closely with • The Managing Content Editor (your line manager) • Our Designers • The Digital Product, CRM, Trading, and SEO teams • Freelance writers, designers, and our broader brand and content teams Skills & experience • A commercial, creative copywriting brain. • Experience writing for acquisition campaigns, ideally within an ecommerce, D2C, or retail brand. • A knack for turning complex ideas (farming, sustainability, food systems) into human, readable copy. • Comfort writing for diverse formats – from headlines and social to product labels and SEO. • Confidence managing multiple briefs and collaborating across creative, content, performance and digital teams. Salary £35,000 – 40,000 per annum, depending on experience
