What youβll do:
The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the target fashion market to develop a commercially relevant range for the GCC customer. We are looking for someone who has a flair for fashion and possesses a strong sense of creativity and can interpret and predict fashion trends and adapt them for the GCC customer.
β’ Takes accountability for delivering a customer-focused and design-led product range, achieved through effective market research, past sales analysis and comp shops
β’ Keeps up to date on ongoing/upcoming global trends and comp mapping
β’ Participate in open-to-buy meetings with planning and provide feedback and work with the planner and Sr. Buyer to arrive on attribute-level seasonal spend for the category
β’ Work with the merchandising team to agree on a range and price architecture
β’ Collaborate with graphic designers for print direction and design
β’ Ensure that sourcing and supplier trend packs are in line with category strategy and themes
β’ Range builds and range sign off, in line with the critical path, ensuring that the senior buyer is aligned on the range
β’ Undertake product development trips in partnership with the sourcing team, using vendors' design resources where possible to create fashion-credible clothing ranges.
β’ Negotiates costings with suppliers while working together with the in-house sourcing teams.
β’ Attend fit/QC sessions and puts forward solutions for any challenges
β’ Manages the order raising process in line with critical path dates and ensures all buying documents are maintained.
β’ Manage product lead times and monitor the critical path to ensure products are delivered on time
β’ Constantly achieve target hit rates for new launches and drive share of rebuy portfolio.
β’ Drive sales, conversion, margin, inventory turn and other web KPIs, including sell-through
β’ Work with merchandising to complete end of season review
β’ Review product customer ratings across channels, study returns data and take corrective action.
Other areas of responsibility:
β’ Cross-functional collaboration on the visibility of the range-marketing, store-front, creative
β’ Prepare seasonal styling guidelines for the content/catalog team
β’ Train, develop, and mentor the Assistant Buyer
What youβll need?
β’ Keen interest in fashion and trends with a proven track record in knitwear.
β’ Background within a WW private label buying role. 4-5 years of work experience in retail e-commerce strongly preferred.
β’ Proven range-building experience, delivering over and above sales targets
β’ A proven track record in product development
β’ Experience in working with fast-fashion model with low order quantities and fast replenishments.
β’ Experienced in sourcing from a global supply base
β’ Must have strong negotiation skills, good commercial awareness and the ability to make quick decisions.
β’ Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, start-up experience preferred.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt them for different audiences, vendors, internal partners, stakeholders and leadership.
