Category Manager
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in full-cycle sourcing-from strategy development to commercialization-and is passionate about building long-term supplier relationships. You'll lead RFI/RFP creation, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management. You'll also be a key contributor to our go-to-market strategy, ensuring supply continuity and value for our healthcare customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop deep knowledge of assigned med/surg categories, including product use, specs, pricing, and competitive landscape.
• Define and execute sourcing strategies based on market intel, supplier capabilities, and risk assessments.
• Lead supplier selection
• Develop and manage RFIs/RFPs, analyze responses, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Negotiate and operationalize supply contracts, including new agreements and product changes.
• Monitor supplier performance and enforce compliance with contract terms.
• Conduct supplier business reviews and lead transparent, solution-focused discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, regulatory, legal, finance, and operations teams.
• Support product lifecycle management, including launches, transitions, and exits.
• Develop category collateral and digital content for sales, marketing, and ecommerce platforms.
• Promote products during customer engagements and resolve escalated issues from internal teams.
• Generate reports to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain (healthcare/medical preferred).
• Proven experience managing sourcing projects from concept to commercialization.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead difficult supplier conversations and drive accountability.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or Business (Engineering or MBA a plus).
