We are seeking an accomplished Category & Shopper Marketing Executive to join the dedicated Category Development and Shopper Marketing team with our client, a world leading FMCG company.This is a pivotal part of their wider Sales function. This role offers a significant opportunity for an experienced professional to drive best-in-class shopper marketing executions and deliver incisive category analysis.
Reporting to the Shopper Marketing Lead, you will operate cross-functionally, collaborating with diverse departments and key retail partners to develop and implement effective strategies that translate directly into market impact.
Key Responsibilities & Impact:
• Strategic Shopper Activation: Lead the end-to-end execution of shopper activity plans for a selection of key customers. This includes aligning internal stakeholders, representing customer needs in proposals, and managing activation budgets with a focus on optimal allocation and stewardship.
• Data-Driven Insights: Provide comprehensive category data analysis, deliver critical reporting insights, and develop precise planograms to support core range and distribution plans. You will leverage various data sources to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a central liaison, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, Corporate Affairs, and Supply teams to design and execute impactful initiatives that resonate both in-store and online.
• Online Execution Excellence: Manage online content for new product launches, ensuring seamless uploads of images, titles, and descriptions. You will also collaborate with agencies to design compelling artwork for e-commerce platforms and maintain engaging brand stores.
• Performance Evaluation & Optimization: Systematically evaluate the performance of activations, deriving clear learnings and actionable recommendations to inform future strategies. This includes coordinating third-party cardboard display management for timely deployment across channels.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual with a minimum of five years of experience in FMCG marketing, shopper marketing, or customer activation roles. The ideal candidate will possess:
• Extensive FMCG & Market Knowledge: Proven understanding of the UK omni-channel market, with specific experience working with the top four grocery retailers.
• Analytical Acumen: A strong ability to synthesise insights from multiple data sources and translate them into actionable strategies. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential, along with financial acumen for budget management and P&L tracking.
• Influencing & Networking Skills: Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external networks, influencing senior stakeholders to achieve mutual objectives.
• Project Management Expertise: A track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects to deliver multiple objectives concurrently.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel for customer meetings across the UK as required.
