Role description
The Corporate & Community Engagement Director leads The Salvation Army ARC Command’s marketing and development efforts, overseeing strategic planning, public relations, e-commerce, advisory council development, and Gifts-In-Kind solicitation. The Director plays a key role in advancing The Salvation Army’s mission through innovative strategies that grow resources, expand outreach, and foster strong community support.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategic marketing, visioning, and public relations initiatives to increase awareness of The Salvation Army’s mission.
• Direct Gifts-In-Kind solicitation and donor recognition programs, including corporate, foundation, and community partner engagement.
• Oversee e-commerce operations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Build and strengthen corporate and community partnerships to expand donor and stakeholder engagement.
• Support and advise local Advisory Councils, committees, and Command leadership in resource development initiatives.
• Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and marketing materials in alignment with national standards.
• Represent The Salvation Army at community events, public speaking engagements, and donor meetings to promote programs and services.
• Plan, evaluate, and monitor development strategies to achieve both short- and long-term goals.
• Foster a positive, professional environment rooted in The Salvation Army’s mission, values, and Christian principles.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing, public relations, or a related field and minimum of five years of progressive experience in seeking Gifts-In-Kind donations or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience demonstrating a record of accomplishments in Gifts-In-Kind development, with an emphasis on building and enhancing an integrated program and considerable interface with top level volunteers.
Valid State Issued Drivers License Required
