Senior Data Analyst / Insight Analyst - Contract - Predictive Modelling Rate: £370-£400/day (Outside IR35) Location: Remote-first (occasional office visits) Start Date: ASAP | Duration: Initial contract, likely extension The Role We're seeking a Senior Data/Insight Analyst with strong predictive modelling and recommendation engine experience to help build an in-house personalised advertising platform. You'll apply advanced analytics to make ads more intelligent, relevant, and incremental-uncovering what customers will love, not just what they've bought before. What You'll Do • Build & optimise recommendation/personalisation models. • Drive incremental targeting beyond repeat-purchase patterns. • Apply predictive analytics to customer behaviour & purchase history. • Use Python (essential), SQL, and ideally PySpark to deliver insights. • Collaborate with Product, Content, and Data Science to align models with business goals. • Translate data into clear, actionable insights. • (Bonus) Explore AI-driven ad content opportunities. What We're Looking For • Proven experience with predictive modelling / recommender systems. • Strong Python & SQL skills (essential). • Exposure to PySpark (desirable). • Strong communicator with ability to link data to business outcomes. • (Bonus) Experience with Generative AI or content automation. Desired Skills and Experience Key Skills Python (essential) SQL (advanced querying & analysis) Predictive Modelling Recommendation Engines / Recommender Systems Personalisation Models PySpark / Spark (desirable) Data Analysis & Insight Generation Machine Learning (applied, not academic) Customer Behaviour Analytics Incremental Targeting / Uplift Modelling A/B Testing & Experimentation Data Visualisation (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) Experience (ideal profile) Strong background in data analysis with predictive modelling for commercial applications. Hands-on experience building or optimising recommendation systems. Proven ability to work with large datasets using Python and SQL. Exposure to personalisation in e-commerce / advertising / customer engagement settings. Experience delivering data-driven insights that directly influence product or marketing outcomes. Comfortable collaborating across Product, Content, and Data Science teams. Bonus: exposure to Generative AI tools or dynamic content/ad optimisation.
