Job Description Role: Database Programmer/ Analyst Contract: 6 months Location: Remote Rate: $54.00/hour W2 About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Database Programmer / Analyst to support a large-scale eCommerce and production fulfillment initiative. This 6-month contract role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and can independently identify opportunities to automate workflows, optimize queries, and deliver cross-database reporting solutions. You’ll work alongside an experienced DBA to provide backup and take on additional responsibilities, with a focus on transforming inbound client data, automating reporting, and supporting production tracking. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and transform inbound data files from large clients for use in production systems. Automate existing and new reporting processes using SSIS, SSRS, Visual Cron, or in-house tools. Review and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and scalability. Join and integrate data across multiple databases to support business reporting and decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions. Document data flows, transformation logic, and reporting processes for transparency and maintainability. Validate data quality and ensure accuracy across large, complex datasets. Provide production reporting on fulfillment status and accomplishments. Required Skills & Experience: 4–6 years of experience in database development and data engineering. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures and query optimization. Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS. Familiarity with automation tools like Visual Cron or similar. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision—self-starter, curious, and proactive. Strong communication skills to explain data processes and business impact clearly. Understanding of application architecture and its influence on data structures and flows. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Familiarity with C# / .NET applications. Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus and API integrations. Experience in eCommerce or production fulfillment environments.
