Ecommerce/Digital Merchant- Footwear and Apparel
Position Summary: The Ecommerce Merchant will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive digital merchandising strategies to optimize product discoverability, drive online sales, and improve the overall customer journey. This role requires a blend of creative vision, analytical prowess, and a deep understanding of e-commerce best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing online revenue through effective product presentation, promotional strategies, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement digital merchandising strategies aligned with overall business goals, focusing on maximizing online sales, conversion rates, and average order value for assigned product categories.
• Category Management: Oversee the online presentation and performance of specific product categories, ensuring optimal product assortment, compelling imagery, accurate descriptions, and effective cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
• Promotional & Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and analyze digital promotions, campaigns, and product launches to drive traffic, engagement, and sales. Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging and execution across all channels.
• Website Optimization: Continuously optimize product pages, category pages, and site navigation for improved user experience, search engine visibility, and conversion. Implement A/B tests to identify best practices and drive incremental improvements.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Google Analytics and other reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, traffic, conversion rates, bounce rates, and customer behavior. Generate regular reports, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to inform merchandising decisions.
• Performance Monitoring: Proactively identify opportunities and challenges within assigned categories based on sales performance, inventory levels, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Buying, Planning, IT, and Customer Service to ensure a unified approach to online sales and customer satisfaction.
• Market & Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in digital merchandising and e-commerce to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in digital merchandising, e-commerce, or online retail, with a strong emphasis on creating and executing online sales strategies.
• Demonstrated expertise in Google Analytics is required.
• Proven experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Solid understanding of e-commerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), and online marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to drive strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, results-oriented, and a self-starter with a passion for e-commerce and retail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with A/B testing platforms and methodologies.
• Familiarity with merchandising tools and product information management (PIM) systems.
