Role description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Digital Merchandising Specialist is responsible for digital DTC experience on the Host Defense and Fungi Perfecti platforms. Primary duties of this position focus on managing and implementing DTC content, enhancing the customer journey, and executing digital merchandising activities. The successful candidate is a skilled digital merchant demonstrating best practice in DTC and eCommerce, proactive communication with team members and partners, strong organization and time management. This is a full-time, exempt position with business hours Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; work outside of these days and hours occur occasionally in order to meet the needs of the business. This position is located onsite in Olympia, WA and reports directly to the DTC Marketing Manager. Local travel to photoshoots will be required from time to time. Responsibilities herein represent typical elements and criteria considered necessary to perform the job successfully. Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident status. • • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Analyze customer journey identifying focus areas to improve engagement and conversion. • Execute strategy across DTC channels to drive product awareness and drive sales program. • Monitor and share DTC trends with the Marketing team and organization to spur continuous improvement. • Guide DTC content needs that are visually brand-aligned within an omni-channel environment. • Platform pilot managing assets, images, page creation, product catalog/collections, promotions, and other functions served by DTC platforms, with heavy emphasis on Shopify. • Optimize DTC experience ensuring ease of use and friction free shopping. • Track product inventory levels, build, and maintain customer engagement plan to manage temp Out of Stock, Out of Stock, Discontinued/Clearance, and Notify Me inventory conditions to mitigate loss of engagement, conversion, and sales. • Review digital DTC content for quality and DSHEA compliance. • Support and execute initiatives to enhance DTC user experience and DTC platform functionality. • Organize and collaborate on DTC content updates aligned with SEO best practice. • Conduct A/B testing on merchandising activities and apply insights for continuous experience improvement. • Collaborate on cross sell and up sell tactics to enhance AOV and drive additional revenue. • Collaborates, communicates, and maintains relationships with external DTC program partners. • Presents findings and delivers actionable insights to drive merchandising strategy. • Works closely with the Asset Manager and other team members to properly store and organize multiple iterations of digital assets. • Partner with stakeholders supporting project management and prioritization for digital DTC initiatives. • Performs other duties as assigned. KEY REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: • Four (4)+ years’ experience creating engaging, customer-centric digital experiences • Four (4)+ years of eCommerce, digital marketing, retail experience. • BS/BA preferred in Design, Communications, Business, and/or relevant field. • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma. • Intermediate experience with DTC platforms and merchandising. • Demonstrated progressive development of DTC user experience and customer journeys. • Advanced communication skills that convey technical information clearly and concisely in a DSHEA compliant manner. • Receptive to feedback and unafraid to seek perspective from various team members to improve user experience and to ensure content is accurate and compelling. • Ability to prioritize and monitor the various moving parts of multiple projects and tasks concurrently. • Capacity to work flexibly under short deadlines to meet a variety of needs. • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, accurate and thorough. • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. • Valid Driver’s License is required.
