Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Category Management to drive the performance of the 150 (and growing fast) suppliers on the Voomi platform. This includes effective onboarding to set our partners up for success, relationship management/negotiation to pull the right levers - e.g., pricing, catalog, operations - to grow the account, and merchandising strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong experience running and growing a P&L, building scalable processes, setting up systems, managing relationships, analyzing data to drive business decisions, leading teams, and negotiating.
Key Responsibilities
• P&L management: partner with suppliers to ensure they hit Voomi top-line goals while driving Voomi’s P&L to profitability targets
• Data driven recommendations: analyze data to make business strategy decisions to accelerate the growth of 150 supplier accounts: includes pricing, rebates, catalog, payment terms, and channels
• Relationship management: conduct data driven business conversations and negotiations with suppliers to drive them to move key levers impacting their account
• Scaling processes: Develop scalable processes and systems that enable the business to handle 300+ supplier accounts
• Onboarding: reimagine the onboarding process for new suppliers and set the relationships up for success on day 1
• Merchandising: revamp and implement Voomi’s merchandising strategy to advise suppliers on items to stock and categories to go after
• Team management: lead a team of relationship managers and analysts
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to connect the dots and solve supplier issues impacting Voomi metrics
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of progressive experience in a high-performing, growth-oriented environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling operational processes
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teamsProven ability to manage a high-growth P&L with accountability for results
• Skilled in building and maintaining external partnerships including vendor negotiations and business deals.
• Background in merchandising strategy, assortment planning or category management
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to “roll up sleeves” to solve problems
