Role description
Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position The Director Digital Merchandising manages the end-to-end customer experience for Family Dollar eCommerce, including our multiple delivery partners. They will be expected to drive the successful and flawless delivery of prioritized capabilities while working cross functionally across teams in merchandising, marketing, technology, and finance. They must have a solid understanding of eCommerce site structures, navigation, digital operations, and fulfillment operations. Responsibilities include owning the B2C and B2B customer experience/UX for multiple shops, leading site operations including the features roadmap management and execution, marketing and merchandising site calendaring, customer service, and fulfillment. They will have a keen eye for balancing Customer Experience with technology capabilities and profitability. The Director will drive performance through KPIs and analysis with a focus on profitability, traffic, conversion, AOV and ROI metrics. They will measure results, identify actionable insights, and routinely communicating with executive leadership. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance • Develops and executes a comprehensive eCommerce plan through Bottoms Up Planning methodology to drive profitable growth within the context of each delivery partner, achieving sales and margin objectives • Prepares annual targets, provides ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and drives prioritization of initiatives and investments through quantitative business justification utilizing tools and processes from Bottoms Up Planning • Conducts quarterly category business reviews based on detailed analysis of previous results and market trends • Suggest and actions marketing activation to drive e-commerce demand, staying in budget. • Identifies new ways to continuously optimize the eCommerce experience (on site and with product fulfillment) using a data driven approach combined with customer insights, recommending and overseeing execution of all necessary elements • Collaborates on oversight of the digital merchandising and marketing and site content calendar aligned with the brand’s business and growth strategy • Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of the website and customer experience features—along with the FD brand on same-day delivery partner’s website. Defines metrics and KPIs and provides regular analysis & performance reports of online performance to Senior Management and stakeholders • Introduces new reporting and analytics techniques to improve understanding of eCommerce business, and customer segments • Collaborates with other team members to develop integrated eCommerce campaigns and activations through all digital channels including email, display, social media, mobile and online. • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments to ensure availability and the timely delivery of merchandise. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required. • 7+ years’ experience in ecommerce and/or Omni-Channel roles in merchandising, marketing, operations, and or product management • Strong understanding of eCommerce shop structures, platforms, and capabilities • Demonstrated experience in driving the aligned execution of digital marketing, site merchandising and customer experience for a product collection • Demonstrated ability to coach and lead teams • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Excel skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Strong project management skills • Ability to lead and influence cross functional teams and leaders • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent attention to detail • Retail math literacy and application of concepts to daily operations • Curious mindset with a strong desire to find new ways to improve the customer experience Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required • Product Management Experience • Experience with Master Data Management • Experience with Product Life Cycles • Experience with P&L management • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Analytics or other Web Analytics Tools
