Ecommerce Director
North East England. On site 4 days. Full time.
Our client is a fast growing lifestyle and leisure brand trading D2C and through leading retailers and marketplaces across the UK, US and EU. They are hiring an Ecommerce Director to own digital performance and deliver measurable growth. This is a very hands on role for someone who has built in start up or scale up environments.
The role
You will lead the ecommerce and digital marketing function, set strategy, and execute at pace. You will partner with Product, Creative and Operations, turning data into clear actions that lift revenue, conversion and customer lifetime value across owned and third party channels.
What you will do
โข Own the Shopify stack end to end. Theme edits in Liquid, app selection, site speed and core web vitals, data layer and GTM
โข Lift conversion and average order value through CRO. Plan tests, analyse results, ship wins quickly
โข Lead acquisition across SEO, Google Ads including Performance Max, Meta, feed management and remarketing
โข Grow lifecycle revenue in CRM. Own Klaviyo or similar for flows, campaigns, segmentation and deliverability
โข Optimise marketplaces. Improve listings, content, pricing, promotions and fulfilment to grow GMV
โข Build clear dashboards in GA4 and BI. Track revenue, conversion rate, AOV, CAC, LTV, repeat rate, email share and ROAS
โข Manage budgets. Forecast, allocate and report by channel and country
โข Roll up sleeves daily. Brief creative, QA releases, fix issues, build landing pages and improve product pages
โข Lead a small team and agencies. Raise the bar on pace, craft and outcomes
What you will bring
โข Proven success scaling ecommerce in start up or scale up settings
โข Deep Shopify experience and confidence working with developers and selecting the right apps
โข Strong performance marketing skills across SEO, PPC, paid social and feed management
โข Hands on CRO and UX with GA4, GTM, Hotjar and an A B testing platform
โข Solid CRM and email automation experience. Klaviyo preferred
โข Marketplace trading know how. Amazon or similar is a plus
โข Advanced Excel or Sheets skills and working knowledge of GA4 attribution
โข Ability to build and lead a small high performing team and get the best from agencies
โข Low ego, owner mindset, clear communication with founders and non technical peers
