We're on the hunt for a seasoned Director of Inventory Planning to act as a strategic leader driving the product lifecycle and inventory strategy across all business channels. This person will oversee the end-to-end merchandise planning process—including seasonal line planning, assortment architecture, buying, and in-season management—ensuring that sales, margin, and inventory goals are met. The Director partners cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Development, Production, Wholesale, Retail, E-commerce, and Finance to create a cohesive and profitable product strategy that supports growth and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
• Own and lead the development of seasonal and long-range inventory and assortment strategies that align with company growth objectives across Retail, E-commerce, and Wholesale.
• Drive the creation and execution of seasonal line plans, buying guidance, and ensuring alignment between consumer demand, design vision, and financial targets.
• Lead post-season hindsight analysis and apply insights to refine future assortments, pricing, and inventory strategies.
Business & Financial Leadership
• Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to manage inventory investments and maximize company gross margin.
• Define and oversee pricing architecture across channels, balancing competitiveness, margin, and brand positioning.
• Provide leadership, insights and recommendation in buy meetings, guiding replenishment and seasonal purchase decisions to optimize stock productivity.
Operational Excellence
• Establish inventory and margin KPIs, monitor performance, and drive corrective action where necessary.
• Optimize in-season inventory flow between channels to drive sell-through, reduce markdowns, and capture incremental sales opportunities.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication
• Act as the central point of connection between Product, Merchandising, Finance, Wholesale, Retail, E-Commerce and Operations to ensure alignment and accountability.
• Partner with executive leadership to present inventory and product strategies that drive growth across all channels.
Team Leadership

• Create a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Management, or related roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven success in omni-channel retail businesses (retail, e-commerce, and wholesale).
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
• Highly proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Joor, Shopify, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing senior leadership.
Compensation: Salary range $125-$155k, plus benefits.
