WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As Director of Product Development, you’ll lead our product strategy and development across existing and new verticals. You’ll collaborate with the founder and executive team to shape the product vision and drive execution across a global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and evolve the brand’s product portfolio & development roadmap
• Lead the full product lifecycle from idea, concept, sample, production, launch
• Own the development calendar with on time sampling, production, and launches
• Manage and improve the product development team’s weekly progress
• Review and final approve all product specs and packaging before production.
• Improve existing products’ features, durability, and aesthetics
• Research market trends and pitch new ideas for the product portfolio
• Improve relationships, terms, and costs with factories and suppliers
• Communicate KPI’s monthly progress to both the product & executive team
• Manage, mentor, and recruit for the product development team
REQUIREMENTS:
• 8–12+ years in consumer product development; fashion or tech accessories preferred
• 3–5+ years in a senior or director-level leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Business, Fashion, or related field
• Proven track record of launching successful physical products
• Familiar with DTC, retail, and e-commerce product cycles
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing, and QC processes
• Experience managing overseas vendors and factory relationships
• Strong team leadership, management, and mentoring abilities
• Very proficient in PLM systems, Airtable, Excel, and project tools (e.g., Asana)
• Analytical mindset with KPI tracking and process improvement skills
• Eye for design, trend relevance, and brand consistency
• Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator
• Able to manage multiple product lines and deadlines
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Highly organized and deadline-oriented
• Willingness to work flexible hours for global coordination (e.g., Asia-based factories)
• Experience in fashion-forward or design-first product categories is a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
• Able to work from the New York office Tuesdays & Thursdays
