Position Summary
AT&T's Product Innovation team is looking for a Distinguished Engineer who is passionate about the eCommerce industry and has analytical and multi-task abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the Empowered Product Team, this role ensures the technical feasibility and successful delivery of products by leading agile development, managing technical risks, providing expert technical guidance, and balancing agility with quality through effective QA protocols. You must possess strong technical background to ensure you are designing modular & scalable web components, you must have experience leading large cross-organizational software development projects and have a well-rounded technical background in current web and micro-service technologies.
Position Responsibilities
• Architect, design and deliver large-scale, reliable, maintainable, high quality tested software products and systems aligned with company guidelines and best practices, maintaining comprehensive documentation for software design, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Resolve the company’s most difficult technical problems, developing groundbreaking solutions and pushing the boundaries of technology aligned with strategic business objectives.
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
• Accountable for technical feasibility and delivery of products
• Address difficult and ambiguous problems spanning the interactions among multiple systems, products, organizations, people and functions.
• Builds tech solutions by iteratively translating customer needs and business constraints into working prototypes
• Advises on best possible technical and innovative approaches
• Balances agility and quality with right protocols
• Lead and provide expert guidance and mentorship to Principal, Lead and Senior engineers, lead technical discussions, and make architectural decisions which positively impact the product and company’s direction.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in full stack development using Java, Spring, React, NoSql, Cloud technologies
• 5+ years of progressive experience in building high volume e-commerce applications.
• 5+ years of experience with leading and managing teams.
• Experience using Observability tools like ELK, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in thought leadership and creating high quality products
• Experience in leadership with the ability to work well across business units, building relationships to deliver on joint objectives and key results
• Experience in building multi-tenant, multi-channel or multi-tenant aware e-commerce platforms
• Expert knowledge and experience working with asynchronous message processing, stream processing and event driven computing.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum/Kanban development team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders
