Role description
E-commerce Trading Analyst Do you have the analytical expertise to unlock insights that boost online sales performance? Are you commercially minded with experience driving growth across D2C and e-commerce platforms? Are you ready to optimise trading performance and customer journeys across both UK and European markets? MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a leading consumer goods business seeking a commercially driven E-commerce Trading Analyst to drive growth across their Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) website. This is a permanent role based in the North East of England. This role will focus primarily on the UK market, while also supporting trading performance and growth opportunities across European sites. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with analytical skills and thrive in a cross-functional environment, working closely with in-house experts and international teams. Key Responsibilities • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs including traffic, conversion, AOV, revenue, and margin. • Provide insights on trading performance across UK and EU sites, highlighting opportunities and risks. • Support promotional planning, campaign launches, and onsite merchandising activity. • Analyse customer behaviour, product performance, and regional differences to inform trading strategy. • Produce dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders. • Identify underperforming categories, SKUs, or customer segments and recommend actions. • Collaborate with UX, SEO, and CRM teams to optimise onsite journeys and campaign landing pages. • Support A/B testing and conversion optimisation initiatives. • Ensure localised content and product presentation align with regional needs. • Partner with marketing, SEO, social, and content teams to align trading activity with wider campaigns. • Liaise with European colleagues to share best practice and adapt activity to local markets. • Work with supply chain/merchandising to ensure stock availability supports trading priorities. • Contribute to forecasting and budget planning through insight and trend analysis. • Track ROI of campaigns and trading actions, making recommendations for future investment. • Stay up to date with competitor activity and wider market trends. Requirements • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or similar. • Commercially minded with experience in an e-commerce or trading environment. • Understanding of regional market differences, ideally UK and EU. • Excellent Excel/Sheets and data visualisation skills. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to stakeholders. • Experience working cross-functionally with SEO, social, CRM, and international teams. • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
