Role description
About the Role We’re seeking a dynamic and hands-on Performance Media Analyst – Google Ads to join our performance marketing team. You’ll be the driving force behind our paid display and video advertising efforts across the Google Display Network (GDN) and YouTube, with some support for paid search. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll own and optimize the Google advertising funnel to meet aggressive CPA, LTV, ROAS, and conversion volume targets. A deep understanding of how to ideate, test, and iterate banner ads is essential for success in this role. You’ll be expected to know what creative formats drive performance, why they work, and how to generate fresh, effective concepts across banners and short-form video. Who We Are Adtechnacity is a tech-driven performance marketing company recognized by Deloitte’s Fast 500 and Inc. 5000 for helping brands scale efficiently and sustainably. We work at the intersection of technology, data, media, and creative to build scalable programs that fuel long-term business growth for our partners. Key Responsibilities • Develop and own the GDN and YouTube Ads strategy, including campaign structure, placement and audience segmentation, creative testing frameworks, and data strategy to achieve performance targets such as CPA, LTV, ROAS, and conversion volume. • Maintain full ownership of the P&L for your channels, making strategic decisions to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS) and margin contribution. • Design and implement testing roadmaps to identify winning banner creatives, headlines, short-form video variations, and landing page funnels that drive growth and scale. • Collaborate closely with creative, product, engineering, and analytics teams to conceptualize, brief, and iterate high-performing banner assets, static templates, motion elements, and YouTube ads tailored to platform behavior and audience intent. • Drive creative ideation based on platform insights—proposing new banner formats, storytelling angles, or visual hooks that improve CTR and downstream conversion. • Continuously analyze campaign data to optimize spend distribution, improve placement quality and audience segments, and scale campaigns to the highest-performing GDN inventory while controlling for CPA and ROAS. • Own the data strategy for Google Ads, working with the analytics team to ensure the effective transfer and utilization of key metrics (e.g., purchase events, LTV signals, funnel stage metrics) to inform targeting, bidding, and optimization strategies. • Act as the subject matter expert for Google Ads, educating and influencing stakeholders on best practices, trends, and opportunities to keep us ahead of the competition. • Build robust testing frameworks, document learnings, and proactively share insights across the marketing team to accelerate growth. • Tie Google Ads performance directly to broader company objectives, demonstrating how your work contributes to overall top-line growth and customer acquisition strategy. Must-Have Qualifications • 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads, with a strong emphasis on Display (GDN) and YouTube in a performance marketing environment (DTC/CPG or affiliate preferred) with specific targets around profitable growth. • Proven experience managing a media buying P&L, with ownership over spend efficiency and profitability. • Strong track record of hitting margin goals across multiple advertiser accounts, balancing scale and efficiency. • Ability to manage compliance and risk within paid media campaigns, especially in high-scrutiny verticals or regulated categories. • Deep understanding of banner ad performance drivers, including design, copy, layout, and placement mechanics. • Deep knowledge of audience segmentation and audience-building strategies within Google Ads including custom intent, topics, affinity audiences, in-market, remarketing, and custom audiences, and how they impact traffic quality, scale, and ROAS. • Demonstrated success in managing spend at scale across GDN, optimizing for high-quality placements and audiences and minimizing waste on underperforming inventory. • Familiarity with short-form video creative development and testing for YouTube Ads including generating and sourcing scripts, hooks, b-roll, and talent. • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding determined performance benchmarks. • Strong analytical skills; able to interpret data, draw insights, and make actionable recommendations. • Demonstrated ability to generate and execute net new media and creative ideas that drive growth. • Strong ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Excellent communication skills. • The ability to leverage AI in solving complex marketing and media allocation challenges. Nice-to-Have Skills • Familiarity with advanced campaign management platforms that support creative testing, dynamic ad serving, and bid automation • Experience working with and interpreting first-party data integrations to optimize Google campaigns. • Ability to build and maintain dashboards in tools like Looker, Sigma, or similar platforms to track performance across multiple variables. • Background in creative ideation and iterative testing (e.g.testing new funnels, tracking different landing pages events) to drive performance improvements. • Comfort collaborating with engineering or product teams to set up and troubleshoot Google Ads pixel and Conversion API integrations for accurate measurement and advanced event tracking. About You • You have outstanding attention to detail – you rarely make mistakes and proactively catch potential errors while double and triple-checking your work. • You have a natural curiosity and love learning new things. • You’re organized and can manage multiple competing priorities without losing momentum. • You enjoy identifying the "why" behind performance—what's working in an ad, and how it can be improved. • You take initiative and bring ideas to the table, especially when it comes to creative innovation and media execution. • You can navigate large datasets to pull actionable insights, and use those to develop smarter strategies and more impactful assets.
