Role description
£70,000 + benefits | Hybrid (Scotland Based)
Shape the future of online trade in one of the UK’s most modern food ingredients manufacturers.
This isn’t your typical family business. Founded in the 1800s, my client has grown to become one of the UK’s largest and most advanced groups within food manufacturing – blending heritage with cutting-edge technology.
Now, they are looking for an E-Commerce Manager to lead the next stage of their digital journey.
Why this role matters
E-commerce is transforming food manufacturing. Nestlé predicts that by 2030, 30% of all sales will be online. My client is ready to seize that future and you’ll be the one to make it happen.
You’ll take ownership of 3rd party platforms and digital presence, building a strategy that drives growth, enhances customer experience, and positions them as the leading digital partner in their sector.
This isn’t about running a web shop on autopilot. It’s about creating a platform and strategy that will scale four to five times beyond today, while keeping them connected to customers in smarter, more efficient ways.
What you’ll do
• Own the e-commerce strategy - shaping the roadmap, defining infrastructure, and setting ambitious targets.
• Lead digital trading across platforms like Amazon and Shopify, maximising visibility and cost-effective sales.
• Integrate systems with retailer portals to streamline ordering and fulfilment.
• Drive digital engagement through promotions, clicks and campaigns
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, IT, Marketing and Operations to ensure digital is embedded at every level.
• Represent the brand online with consistency, accuracy and impact from technical product specs to customer journey design.
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience launching or scaling e-commerce in food, FMCG or B2B manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of platforms (Shopify, Amazon, retailer systems/portals).
• A track record of defining and delivering end-to-end e-commerce strategy.
• Commercial acumen - able to balance growth with cost efficiency.
• A collaborative, visible leader: team-player, cross-functional influencer, and trusted partner to colleagues at every level.
• Based in Scotland and willing to travel between sites.
What you’ll get
• £70,000 salary
• Hybrid working (3 days on site)
• Pension (3% employee / 5% employer)
• MediCare cash plan
• Cycle to work scheme
Why join us?
You’ll find a family-run environment with industrial scale and ambition. My client is profitable, with a £1billion turnover and profit growing at 10% year-on-year.
This is your chance to build something lasting - not just managing an online shop, but creating the digital backbone of a business that has thrived for over 135 years.
If you’re ready to take ownership, bring them on the journey, and leave a real legacy - I'd love to hear from you.
Apply now with your CV and I will reach out with more info!
