Role description
The eCommerce Manager will be responsible for driving the online sales for Hedges Direct and Best4Hedging. This role involves overseeing all aspects of website performance, customer experience, and sales optimisation to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of strategic thinking, data analysis, technical proficiency, and a strong understanding of eCommerce best practices. Roles & Responsibilities: Strategic Execution: • Execute the online sales strategy to achieve business objectives. • Identify growth opportunities and recommend strategies for eCommerce channel expansion. Website Trading • Owning the monthly trading plans for Hedges Direct and Best4Hedging • Responsible for promotional plans across both brands • Responsible for in day trading updates depending on performance Website Management: • Oversee daily operations of the Hedges Direct and Best4Hedging websites. • Ensure smooth website performance, user-friendly design, and optimal customer experience. • Monitor website updates, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with developers when needed. Conversion Optimisation: • Implement A/B testing and UX/UI enhancements to improve conversion rates. • Use personalisation techniques to enhance customer experience and Net Promoter Index (NPI) scores. • Working closely with development agencies to manage and prioritise the development roadmap Data Analysis & Reporting: • Analyse website traffic, conversion rates, sales data, and customer behaviour. • Generate regular performance reports and use insights to inform strategy. Site Speed Optimisation: • Monitor and optimise site speed to achieve a sub-2 second load time wherever possible. • Ensure site speed improvements align with SEO best practices and Core Web Vitals metrics. • Collaborate with developers to address performance bottlenecks and implement solutions. Product Management: • Manage product listings, descriptions, pricing, and inventory levels. • Plan and execute product promotions to drive sales. SEO Management: • Collaborate with external partners to increase organic visibility for both brands. • Monitor and implement on-page and off-page SEO improvements. Skills & Qualifications: eCommerce Platform Expertise: • Ideally the candidate will have strong experience in managing Magento websites. • Alternatively the candidate should show a proficiency in using multiple ecommerce website platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, UCommerce or similar. Trading Skills: • Ability to identify and influence trading patterns across consumer and trade websites Analytical Skills: • Ability to interpret data and use metrics like conversion rates and sales performance to inform decisions. Technical Skills: • Basic knowledge of web development and UX/UI principles. • Experience with A/B testing and personalisation tools. • Experience of managing external development agencies and web developers Project Management: • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and cross-functional teams. Communication Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and external coordination.
