Role description
POSITION SUMMARY
The e-commerce manager is responsible for working with the Chief Digital Officer in developing, managing, and executing the company's online strategy to drive sales, improve customer experience, as well as manage day-to-day operations.
The e-commerce manager should be a strategic thinker with a data-driven approach and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced digital environment. They must be adept at collaborating with various departments to ensure a cohesive online presence that aligns with the company's overall goals and brand identity. Specific duties required to support the ecommerce and omnichannel business including UX design and development, graphic design, customer service support, marketplace support and cross functional team management, analytics and marketing support and lastly store support for all backend operations.
This role requires a blend of business acumen, technical knowledge, and marketing expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
Strategy and Planning
Devise strategies to harness sales-related insights, prevailing standards, and novel developments to encourage sales in the online store
Develop refresh strategy each month – coordinating with marketing and merchandising to execute promotion strategy and product assortment strategy
Work with CDO to identify potential functionality upgrades, development roadmap – both short term and long term to achieve growth objectives
Stay in touch with all best in breed strategies in the ever-changing digital space to ensure our site is on trend and current to best available functionality that we can execute
Manage and develop all budgets for sales, expenses and CAPX
Marketing and Analytics
Utilize Google Analytics and back-end CMS to identify trends in the site to drive up conversion and drive down abandon rate
Identify pathing to see where functionality holes may exist and then develop strategies and tactics to fill them
Develop dashboards and key KPIs and site metrics to manage the site and then use this data to improve our customer experience and increase average order size, revenue per cart, time on site, reduce cart abandon rate, etc.
Help identify customer trends and insights in our site customer behavior - help infuse these trends into larger business strategies such as product clustering, type of visitor and content they utilize in our site
Support (CDO) in all digital marketing areas including: PPCPLAs, Programmatic Display, Re-targeting, Meta properties, etc.
Operations Management
Responsible for all day-to-day operations including: all pricing and inventory feeds in and out of ERP system, promotions and in-site marketing/content, site debugging, back-end operations/store support
Development and execution of content plan/promotionmarketing plans
UX Management
Develop plans to improve user experience and user interface on web pages
Audit the UX of the website and implement changes for continuous improvement
Build out web pages to improve SEO
Use analytics to influence what UX improvements/roadmap building
Ecommerce Merchandising
Execute all online merchandising including site banners, landing pages, and promotional messaging
Plan content for websites according to merchandising priorities and align with integrated marketing calendar
Digital Creative Development
Create and execute assets for digital channels based on theme and creative direction from brand managers, and channel owners
Create still and animated designs upon request to promote sales promotions, new products, events, and services to be used in paid ads, social media, email, etc.
Marketplace Strategy and Logistics
Manage daily operations of Walmart store including adding inventory, basic set-up, and reports
Act as the point-of-contact for listing descriptions
Execute marketplace strategy for company as well as getting us up on other marketplaces
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
2 to 4 years' preferred experience
Solid understanding and knowledge of best practices in industry
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solving skills that optimize available resources
High level of accuracy/attention to detail
Ability to take initiative to overcome issues
