Role description
We’re seeking an Ecommerce Merchandising Strategist to own the online customer journey across our DTC platform. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for helping customers find exactly what they need—fast. From product searchability to categorization, SEO, on-site navigation, and content strategy, you’ll craft seamless digital experiences that drive conversion and reflect a deep understanding of our customers and our products.
What You’ll Do
• Own the customer journey on our DTC ecommerce website—especially how users search, browse, and discover products.
• Optimize on-site search and product taxonomy to ensure users can easily find what they’re looking for.
• Design and refine product discovery paths, category hierarchies, and filters to support customer intent and improve path to purchase.
• Understand the product inside and out. You’ll become an expert in our technical product lines and use that knowledge to inform how we merchandise online.
• Implement and evolve SEO best practices, ensuring product pages and category content rank effectively and drive organic traffic.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with digital marketing, product, and creative teams to align on promotions, launches, and merchandising strategies.
• Be both strategic and tactical—you’ll help shape the vision for ecommerce innovation while also getting into the details of what needs to be updated, tested, and improved daily.
• Use data to drive decisions, leveraging analytics to understand conversion performance, customer behavior, and merchandising effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, digital strategy, or a related role.
• DTC experience required—ideally with consumer products that require explanation or technical context (e.g., power tools, home electronics, sporting equipment, etc.).
• Proven ability to analyze customer behavior and optimize content and structure to improve product discovery and sales.
• Hands-on experience with site merchandising tools, ecommerce platforms (like Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.), and SEO tools.
• Strong strategic thinking, natural curiosity, and the drive to understand both the product and the customer.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments with evolving priorities.
