Finance Director Remote - ability to get to office 1 day/week We’re currently recruiting for a Finance Director for an innovative and high growth food business. This senior role will oversee day-to-day financial operations while providing strategic insights and guidance to drive sustainable growth and profitability. Partnering closely with the MD and senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial performance, guiding critical business decisions, and optimising efficiency across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Commercial Finance & Business Partnering β€’ Partner with the senior leadership team to gain deep insight into performance across key channels. β€’ Advise on pricing strategies and promotional planning. β€’ Deliver actionable analysis on channel performance to boost revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency. β€’ Assess the financial viability of new business opportunities. Budgeting & Forecasting β€’ Lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring financial implications of channel activities are fully understood. β€’ Manage and update the cash flow forecast. β€’ Build and maintain robust financial models. Month-End & Reporting β€’ Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, highlighting variances to budget/forecast and providing insightful commentary. β€’ Review monthly accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register entries, and related accounting adjustments. β€’ Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations. Financial Operations β€’ Manage the finance function on a daily basis. β€’ Oversee accounts receivable/payable and expense management. β€’ Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns. β€’ Support payroll preparation and liaise with the payroll bureau. β€’ Act as the main point of contact for annual audits. β€’ Provide ad hoc financial analysis and commercial support as required. People, Processes & Systems β€’ Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance Manager. β€’ Continuously strengthen financial controls, frameworks, and policies. β€’ Take ownership of cloud accounting and ERP platforms. Requirements β€’ Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with at least 5 years’ PQE. β€’ Proven experience in a product or stock-based business (FMCG preferred). β€’ Strong background in eCommerce (essential). β€’ Track record of effective business partnering with non-finance teams. β€’ Skilled at interpreting and presenting complex financial data clearly and concisely. β€’ Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills. β€’ Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. β€’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. β€’ Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and financial software/systems. β€’ Experience managing and developing a finance team.
