Role description
Who we are:
At TrueLayer, we’re building the future of payments. We’re on a mission to take on outdated payment methods with a solution designed for today’s online, on-demand economy. By removing friction at the heart of commerce — the payment — we’re making it faster, safer, and smarter for everyone.
To date, we’ve raised $300 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Addition, and Tencent. With offices in London, Milan, and Dublin, we’re trusted by industry leaders like RyanAir and Just Eat Takeaway. But this is just the beginning.
We’re reimagining how the world pays, invests, shops, and saves. We’re transforming payments for industries like e-Commerce and iGaming, redefining what’s possible with technology and innovation. Now, we’re looking for people who are ready to help us build a brand that changes an industry.
Description
TrueLayer’s Commercial team ensures clients are given a high-quality service with the utmost trust and diligence and to create an experience of using TrueLayer’s products which exceeds their expectations.
We’re looking for a commercial leader who sees the big picture of where financial technology and more specifically Open Banking is headed within the Ecommerce sector. This is a great opportunity to guide Europe’s leading Open Banking provider in the world’s 4th largest Ecommerce market and beyond.
As our Head of Ecommerce, you will:
• Serve as a key Vertical and Countries Leadership Team member, shaping our overall strategy and championing the Ecommerce vertical.
• Define and execute our GTM strategy, leveraging the skills and expertise of your vertical team to unlock new growth.
• Act as the voice of the customer, partnering with Growth (BD, Marketing) and Product leaders to identify new opportunities, shape our product roadmap, and implement winning strategies that drive growth.
• Leverage your industry knowledge and network to build and nurture relationships with strategic enterprise clients.
• Lead and mentor a team of Account Executives, empowering them to develop, qualify, negotiate, and close key enterprise opportunities.
• Partnering closely with our Integration Sales and Customer Success teams will ensure a seamless customer journey, from the initial payments experience to long-term conversion and adoption.
• Serve as TrueLayer’s voice in the Ecommerce industry, positioning yourself as an innovator and thought leader in open banking and its impact on the market.
• Use data to accurately measure performance and report on key sales KPIs, ensuring we focus on our most critical objectives.
• Collaborate with our Talent team to attract, interview, and hire top-tier talent for your team and the broader organisation.
What we expect from you:
• You have significant experience supervising and coordinating cross-functional teams to sell into complex enterprise Ecommerce companies.
• You naturally build relationships and communicate with technical and non-technical decision-makers at the highest level, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are highly focused on customer outcomes and can back up your strategies and assertions with solid data.
• You're technically curious and love getting into the details of clients’ products. You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves to deliver great work in a fast-paced environment.
• You are comfortable leading difficult conversations and acting as a trusted advisor who uncovers new opportunities.
We would be particularly excited if you have:
• A strong interest in and a solid understanding of Open Banking, PSD2, payments, and data, with an eagerness to drive innovation in this space.
• Experience with the MEDDIC sales methodology or a similar structured, value-based sales approach, with a proven ability to qualify opportunities and build compelling business cases.
• A true challenger mindset, comfortable pushing clients to think differently about their business.
What you can expect from us:
• Competitive salary and meaningful equity in the company 💰
• Flexible hours and hybrid working — work from home 🏡 and our incredible offices in London 🇬🇧 Milan 🇮🇹 and Dublin 🇮🇪
• A £150 remote-working budget to help you set up your home office 💺
• Flexible holiday policy, with 24 days as standard ✈️
• Flexible bank holidays, so you can take those days whenever you like 🌍
• 2 volunteering days to support causes important to you 🌳
• Generous parental leave, above and beyond statutory requirements and with no minimum tenure 👩👩👦
• Enhanced pension contribution at 4% & 4% 👵🏽 👴🏽
• Private health insurance from the day you start 🧑🏽⚕️
• 12 fully-paid wellbeing days a year and your birthday off (on top of the holiday allowance) 🕊️
• Membership of mental wellbeing platform Spill 🧘🏽♀️
• £1,000 to spend on learning & development each year 📚
At TrueLayer, we don’t just do inclusion and diversity. We embrace people that have different opinions, perspectives and personalities. Because we believe that by seeing the world from all sorts of angles, we can make life better for all the people who live in it. We strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups (e.g. people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from all socio-economic backgrounds). If you’d like to discuss alternative working patterns, please let us know.
We will always aim to make appropriate adjustments to ensure we are fully inclusive to people with different needs during our interview process. So if you need us to make any adjustments to suit your individual needs please let us know - we’ll be happy to support you.
