Location: Ypsilanti, MI (fully in-person)
Type: Full time, exempt
Compensation: $100,000–$135,000 salary, paid time off, a monthly health stipend, and a role that actually matters

Overview
Ballard House is a founder-led ecommerce accelerator that partners with established brands to scale Amazon operations using our in-house logistics, content creation and advertising infrastructure. Founded in 2017, we began as an Amazon reseller and evolved into our current brand partnership model in 2023, bringing our operational experience to a select portfolio of legacy-rich, eight and nine-figure brands.
We’re hiring a Head of Amazon Operations to take full ownership of our brand management function, including team, execution and process. Reporting directly to the COO, this role is responsible for driving results across one of our most critical business units. You’ll design the workflows, lead the team, and remove the friction across content, ads, inventory, and reporting, owning both the playbook and the scoreboard. Strategic priorities, brand-level initiatives, and high-level account direction will come from the Head of Brand Strategy or Executive Team. This role is expected to provide structured feedback on strategic direction, campaign outcomes, and process limitations to the Strategy Lead, ensuring data informs future planning.
This is not a support role. You’ll work directly with the founders and help define what operational excellence looks like at scale. In a flat team like ours, execution speaks louder than org charts. Bring results, and you’ll shape the company.
If you are the kind of operator who finds the bottlenecks, builds the process, and leads the team, this is your lane.

Company Core Values
These aren’t poster values. We use them to make decisions, hire, fire, and move fast. If they match how you operate, you’ll fit right in.
Unimpeachable Character: Be someone others are always proud to associate with, personally and professionally
Open and Honest: Feedback is the catalyst for growth
Play to Win: Define what it takes to win, then do it
Always Moving Forward: We choose relentless positivity
What You’ll Own:
• Accountable for executing against brand-level growth and margin targets by translating strategy into action and leading team performance across content, advertising, and operations
• Own performance outcomes across the full brand portfolio, including top-line growth and contribution margin, by translating strategic priorities into team execution and supporting brand managers in delivery
• Lead process improvement across brand operations by driving collaboration with SMEs in content, advertising, inventory, and analytics. Define success metrics, improve reporting access, and shorten feedback loops
• Ensure each SME team owns and maintains current SOPs and operational playbooks, and hold them accountable for documentation quality, versioning, and adoption across teams
• Identify resource gaps and lead initiatives to expand the team and toolset—including hiring, training, and software implementations—to support growth
• Lead recurring operational meetings to align teams, track KPIs, remove blockers, and foster collaboration across disciplines
• Own hiring and training projects within the department
• Serve as a core member of the leadership team, actively setting and delivering on quarterly and annual company-wide targets
• Stay current on Amazon marketplace trends and ecommerce best practices to inform resource allocation, test new ideas, and drive department performance
Qualifications
• 3–7 years of experience leading operations in a high-accountability, small-team environment (5–50 people). Retail, ecommerce, or supply chain preferred
• Proven ability to lead teams, build SOPs, and own execution across multiple functions
• Strong project management instincts. Able to prioritize, delegate, and hit deadlines without hand-holding
• Comfortable with basic data analysis and decision-making using dashboards, reports, or exports
• Clear communicator who can run a meeting, hold a team accountable, and work cross-functionally
Nice-to-Haves (or Willing to Learn Fast):
• Proficiency with tools like Google Suite, ClickUp (or similar), and ecommerce ops platforms
• Experience with Amazon tools like Keepa, DataDive, Revseller
• Familiarity with EOS or other structured operating systems
• Understanding of ad spend pacing, inventory forecasting, and listing optimization workflows
• Exposure to brand management or agency-side account execution
This role is for you if:
• You measure your own success by how impactful your projects are, not by how often you clock out at 5 pm
• You look at a workflow and can’t stop finding ways it could be simpler
• You prefer small biz scrappy to corporate drama and committees
• You love to win, and hate losing
• You’ve worked brand-side or agency-side in ecommerce operations and love the mix of logistics, data, and team execution
• You like to clarify the goal, then compress the timeline to completion
• You wouldn’t trade your reputation for a short-term win
• You agree that watching a team run smoothly is one of life’s greatest joys
• You believe the shared mission is more important than keeping everyone happy
Probably not the right fit if you:
• Love the comfort of having an SOP for all situations
• Would rather let someone else manage the details so you can focus on the big picture
• Get burned out managing multiple projects
• Prefer to set easy goals because missing a target feels bad
• Want to ship something once, then move on forever
• See operations as a “maintenance” function instead of a growth driver
• Think learning AI is ‘not your thing’
• Want to work from a beach
• Feel like giving or receiving process-oriented feedback is painful or unkind
Benefits
We invest in people who move the business forward. We offer competitive compensation and a high-trust, high-performance environment where operators can thrive. Perks include:
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• No bureaucracy or layers of management—just clear goals and real ownership
• Work with founders and leadership daily
• Tools and training to help you grow in ecommerce and operations
• A team that moves fast, wins together, and doesn’t tolerate drama
In addition, we provide a monthly health stipend to support coverage until we transition to a full healthcare and retirement package, which is on the roadmap for 2026.
