Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, EBTH was born out of a passion for helping people via a full-service approach to revolutionize how homeowners, estate managers, dealers, and collectors connect with a world of shoppers seeking rare and wonderful things. Each day, our auction platform unleashes over 800 lots of an ever-changing assortment of art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, antiques, and more to a global audience of over 3 million bidders across the US and 150 countries.
As part of our continued growth strategy, we are adding a Head of Corporate Development to our dynamic team. This position will play a pivotal role in executing the full M&A lifecycle, driving strategic initiatives, and advancing business development. You will have the opportunity to help architect and execute on our overall growth strategy, and lead our partnership, M&A, and strategic investments activities globally. You bring a strong understanding of the e-commerce & retail industry, significant experience developing and completing deals, and a desire to drive accelerated growth. Youβll have at your disposal a range of resources that you can leverage as you build a top-tier operation and see through the corporate development vision. Youβll work directly with the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Leadership as you source, evaluate, and negotiate deals that take EBTH to the next level of expansion, growth, and performance.

Responsibilities
Marketplace Landscape Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of the competitive marketplace landscape, identifying emerging trends, key players, competitor activities, market dynamics, and technological advancements to inform strategic decision-making and identify potential opportunities or threats.
Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market dynamics, and technological advancements to inform strategic decision-making and identify potential opportunities or threats.
Business Development: Proactively identify and evaluate new avenues for growth, including market expansion, new product/service offerings relevant to the marketplace, innovative business models, strategic partnerships, and potential acquisitions that align with the company's long-term growth objectives.
External Relationship Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential target companies, investment banks, private capital offices, and other relevant players in the e-commerce and marketplace space.
Lead and Manage M&A Execution: Take ownership of the day-to-day execution of the M&A process, overseeing the entire deal lifecycle from sourcing, diligence, LOI negotiation, closing, and post-transaction integration.
Financial & Business Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including valuation models, financial due diligence, and forecasting. Lead efforts to assess target companies' financial performance, operational capabilities, and strategic fit.
Deal Structuring and Negotiation Support: Collaborate with senior leadership to draft, structure, negotiate, and close deals. Play a key role in drafting term sheets (IOI, LOI), investment memos, and closing documentation.
Stakeholder Communication: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for internal stakeholders, including senior management and investors. Communicate key insights and recommendations clearly and effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Process Refinement: Ensure a focus on continuous process improvement by identifying and implementing efficiencies across the M&A function. Take ownership of refining existing processes, creating standard procedures, and driving best practices to enhance deal execution and integration
Requirements
β’ 8+ years of experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships, or a related field such as venture capital, investment banking, or strategic consulting
β’ Strong knowledge and established network within the e-commerce & retail industry
β’ Experience driving multiple business deals through all phases; ability to manage complex negotiations from start to finish
β’ Excellent analytical skills; experience building financial growth models, revenue projections, market data models, etc.
β’ Technical background or knowledge of software/internet products and services
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions/deal structures
β’ Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven attitude
β’ Knowledge of global financial regulations; international business experience is a plus
