Role description
About Plug
Plug is the only wholesale platform built exclusively for used electric vehicles. Designed for dealers and commercial consignors, Plug combines EV-specific data, systems and expertise to bring clarity and confidence to the wholesale buying and selling process. With the addition of Trade Desk™, dealers can quickly receive cash offers or list EV trade-ins directly into the auction, removing friction and maximizing returns. By replacing outdated wholesale methods with tools tailored to EVs, Plug empowers dealers to make faster and more profitable decisions with a partner they can trust. The Opportunity
We are looking for a full stack marketing and growth leader to architect, own, and execute Plug’s end-to-end go-to-market strategy across automotive dealerships and partners. You will own the measurement-driven growth engine and the brand and creative direction that powers it, crafting our narrative, building our presence, and turning early traction into scalable market leadership.
You will work closely with Sales, RevOps and the CEO to drive measurable pipeline impact while also owning our voice, positioning, and reputation in the market. At this stage, you are the team. You will strategize like an executive, execute like a founder, and thrive in the “messy middle” of a high growth, pre-Series A marketplace startup.
What You’ll Do...
Growth and Revenue Impact
• Design and execute Plug’s acquisition, retention, and lifetime value strategy with full accountability for CAC, ROAS, CVR, and pipeline metrics.
• Partner with Sales and RevOps to align go-to-market priorities, co-own funnel KPIs, and ensure attribution and reporting are accurate and actionable.
• Leverage AI tools for creative testing, personalization at scale, predictive lead scoring, and campaign optimization.
Brand and Creative Leadership
• Define and evolve Plug’s core brand narrative, positioning, and messaging across all channels.
• Oversee creative direction to ensure a cohesive and premium visual identity in every touchpoint.
• Lead storytelling initiatives that differentiate Plug in the EV and marketplace ecosystem.
Content and Communications
• Fully own daily multi-platform video production including scripting, preparing shoots, and managing outsourced editing and posting.
• Manage social media strategy and editorial calendar, ensuring content reflects both our brand and growth objectives.
• Oversee website strategy and refreshes to reflect evolving audiences and use cases.
• Manage PR agency relationships, securing high impact media coverage in trade, industry, and consumer press.
Customer Engagement and Retention
• Design automated email and SMS flows that activate dealers, keep them engaged, and encourage repeat transactions.
• Lead growth-driven campaigns to increase both buying and selling activity in our dealer network.
Event Marketing
• Manage end-to-end event strategy from booth design to lead capture and post-event ROI measurement.
• Integrate events into the broader marketing and growth calendar to maximize exposure and conversion.
Data, Analytics, and Experimentation
• Own the marketing analytics stack including tracking, dashboards, and attribution to ensure every creative, budget, and timing decision is grounded in clean data.
• Run structured A/B and multivariate testing across campaigns, creative, and landing pages to continuously improve results.
What You Bring...
• 6 to 10 years in Senior Marketing and/or Growth roles at high velocity, early stage marketplace or B2B2C startups.
• A proven track record of owning a growth P&L and leading both brand and performance marketing efforts.
• Experience developing and executing a brand narrative alongside a performance-driven growth strategy.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered marketing workflows, creative production, and analytics platforms.
• Strong collaboration skills with Sales, RevOps, and Product to ensure go-to-market alignment.
• Automotive or dealer network exposure is a plus, though marketplace experience is the priority.
• Ruthless prioritization.
What Makes You a Great Fit...
• You can switch between creative director and growth hacker modes in the same day.
• You thrive in the “messy middle” stage where strategy meets sleeves rolled up execution.
• You are a storyteller, a data expert, and a builder who uses both creativity and analytical rigor to drive compounding results.
• You treat AI as a core part of your marketing toolkit, not a side experiment.
• You have conviction for the transition to electric vehicles and transforming the automotive industry.
• Data, quantified impact and measuring ROI is inherent to your process.
• Non-traditional marketing backgrounds (e.g. past founder) are welcome.
Compensation + Benefits...
• Compensation: $185,000 to 195,000 + equity
• Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits
