Role description
Head of Marketing – LILY & ROO Salary: £60,000+ Location: Hybrid – Office Based (London Zone 9) Type: Full-Time | Permanent About the Brand LILY & ROO is a founder-led e-commerce jewellery brand, established in 2018. With double-digit growth year on year, we’ve built a loyal and engaged customer base, 75% in the UK and Ireland, and 25% in the United States, who value thoughtful design, quality materials, and exceptional customer service. We are now approaching £10 million in annual revenue. Unlike most digital-first brands, we handle a significant portion of our operations in-house. Over 40% of our jewellery is handcrafted by our in-house team of makers, and every product is picked, packed, and dispatched from our headquarters just outside Greater London. This level of control allows us to deliver a consistent, premium customer experience at every stage. Our tech stack includes Shopify, Gorgias, Loyalty Lion, Nosto, and more, providing a strong digital infrastructure to support growth and personalisation. As we prepare for our next phase of scale, we are hiring a Head of Marketing to lead our marketing strategy and execution, build the team, and drive performance across all channels. The Role This is a senior, hands-on position reporting directly to the Managing Director. The Head of Marketing will work closely with the Founders and MD to shape the brand’s commercial and creative direction, manage key agency relationships, and oversee all areas of marketing, including brand, content, CRM, paid, partnerships, and analytics. You will manage a small in-house team (Marketing Executive and Intern), and act as the link between creative, commercial, and operational teams. You will also collaborate with external agencies and freelancers to ensure output is on-brand, on-time, and driving results. Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy • Define and implement the overarching marketing strategy to support business growth targets in the UK, Ireland, and USA. • Lead and develop the marketing team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture with clear objectives and accountability. • Work closely with the MD and Founders to align marketing activities with broader business goals, product roadmap, and brand evolution. • Own the marketing budget, ensuring spend is aligned with return and strategic priorities. • Monitor the competitive landscape and identify new growth opportunities (channels, markets, partnerships). Brand & Creative Direction • Maintain and evolve the brand’s visual and verbal identity across all customer touchpoints, ensuring consistency and clarity. • Approve marketing materials across social media, email, paid advertising, website, and packaging. • Collaborate with the Founder on campaign development, seasonal photo shoots, and new product launches. • Ensure external agencies and freelancers are aligned with brand standards and guidelines. Digital Marketing & Performance • Oversee the paid advertising strategy (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), in collaboration with our performance agency. • Review campaign performance data and guide creative, targeting, and budget adjustments based on results. • Monitor KPIs across all channels, including ROAS, CPC, CAC, retention rate, and LTV. Email & CRM • Manage the email marketing calendar, working with our agency to brief and approve campaigns and automated flows. • Ensure lifecycle communications are relevant, timely, and effective, especially during sales and peak seasons. • Use segmentation and personalisation tools to increase engagement and retention. E-commerce, Loyalty & Retention • Partner with the e-commerce team to optimise our Shopify site, from homepage layout to PDP content and UX improvements. • Use tools such as Nosto and heatmaps to identify optimisation opportunities. • Manage the Loyalty Lion programme and ensure customer loyalty, referrals, and LTV targets are being met. Influencer & Affiliate Strategy • Lead influencer and content creator partnerships, from sourcing and briefing to performance tracking. • Work with our affiliate agency to monitor traffic spikes, code usage, and high-performing partners. Analytics & Reporting • Deliver regular performance reports to the Founders and MD with key insights and recommendations. • Use GA, Shopify data, and CRM reports to guide commercial decision-making and marketing efficiency. Experience & Skills • Minimum 5 + years’ experience in a senior marketing role within e-commerce, ideally jewellery. • Proven success managing and scaling paid, organic, and lifecycle marketing channels. • Experience managing agencies and building/leading a high-performing internal team. • Strong understanding of UK and US DTC audiences. • Confident in budget management, forecasting, and performance reporting. • Strong brand sensibility with commercial acumen. • Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, founder-led environment. Benefits • Competitive salary starting from £60,000+, depending on experience • Hybrid working • Up to 30 days holiday, plus your birthday off • Pension scheme • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), access to confidential support, including counselling, money management guidance, and mental health advice • Regular company socials and team events • Generous staff discount • Opportunity to make a strategic impact in a growing British jewellery brand • Direct collaboration with the Founder and Managing Director Why This Role? This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role in a brand with a strong foundation, loyal customers, and ambitious plans. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, manage key functions, and grow with the business, while working alongside passionate founders in a fast-moving and creative environment. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of age, gender identity, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or background. We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.
