Role description
We’re looking for a commercially astute and results driven Global Head of Markets to lead Secret Escapes’ supply and merchandising strategy across all our +10 markets. This senior role is directly accountable for delivering £500M+ in online sales, and optimising supply performance across 100+ global destination countries.
This is a hybrid working role (minimum 1 day in the office and 4 days from home). You can commute to our London, Berlin or Amsterdam offices.

The role & what you’ll do
You’ll lead a cross-functional team managing supply strategy & quality, category management & merchandising, and ultimately trading performance. Acting as the commercial command centre, you and your team will turn market insights into action, ensuring our portfolio - from destination to deal level - is relevant, experiential, high-quality, competitively priced, and attuned to demand trends.
Reporting to the Commercial Director you will...
• Own delivery of ~£500M in annual revenue across +10 markets
• Maximise commercial performance, supply portfolio optimisation and pricing strategy
• Leverage market data to improve conversion, profitability, and competitiveness
• Plan & oversee a live portfolio of 2,000+ deals across 100+ destinations
• Ensure right portfolio size, destination coverage and product mix balance
• Continuously optimise portfolio freshness, quality, and seasonal relevance
• Lead global merchandising across all channels (i.e. onsite, app, newsletter, ads etc.)
• Plan and execute quarterly and annual campaigns in collaboration with Sales & Marketing
• Ensure timely procurement and promotion of the right product to the right customer
• Launch and lead a new product line of 30,000+ third-party deals from bed banks, DMCs, wholesalers, and GDSs
• Own vendor selection, commercial terms & relationship management
• Build a scalable revenue management function to optimise yield and conversion
• Lead, inspire, and grow a cross functional team of 10+ FTEs
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and commercial excellence
• Align resources to evolving strategic priorities with a clear roadmap for expansion
• Identify commercial trends and lead data and market intel-driven trading decisions
• Moderate weekly trading meetings for tactical commercial performance actions
• Deliver succinct & actionable reporting to senior leadership
• Define and maintain quality standards for hotel selection & holiday package design
• Balance commercial goals with brand reputation and customer satisfaction
The Team
This is a dynamic and collaborative team who are at the forefront of optimising our portfolios and enhancing overall performance by making sure we have the right deals, in the right destinations, at the right prices and time. The team aims to maximise trade with campaigns and promotions by working with various departments in the business to get the best criteria for customer targeting, as well as providing in-depth analyses around performance, to come up with actionable insights.
With a balanced distribution, half of our team is based in Berlin and the other half in London, creating a diverse and inclusive environment. The team's hybrid work model provides flexibility, allowing for a substantial amount of home office time, while also fostering a sense of unity through periodic in-person meetings at our offices in Berlin, London, or Amsterdam. What you will bring…
• Proven experience of senior commercial leadership in a fast paced, data driven environment (e-commerce or online travel environment a plus)
• Proven P&L ownership and track record of delivering revenue targets across international markets
• Experience leading and scaling cross function commercial teams - ideally including supply, pricing, trading and merchandising.
• Strong understanding of demand side dynamics and customer behaviour across different point of sales markets (UK, EU, Global)
• Hands on experience optimising supply portfolios, launching new product lines and balancing strategic and tactical goals.
And you are…
• Commercially and analytically minded with advanced Excel/BI skills (Tableau a plus)
• A strong communicator and confident in leading cross functional trading meetings with C level stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial minded with a high accountability and a bias for action
• Someone who thrives in scale-up or transformational environments.
