Role description
About the role Tesco Online is the biggest online grocer in the UK and one of the largest in the world, recently reaching over £6bn in sales. Digital growth is core to Tesco's future and this role is pivotal in definiing and executing the strategy to deliver that growth. You will be responsible for - Leading a team of Strategy managers to define new strategic propositions for Tesco Online based on customer needs, market trends and opportunities to increase sales and profit growth. - Collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders including Finance, Fulfilment, Customer, Technology, Commercial and other Online Development teams to lead our strategic planning capabilities - Guiding the development of the Online plan and ensuring the right initiatives are in place to deliver our performance measures both in year and over the longer term - Value Management & Delivery: leading the team to deliver value and facilitating delivery of plans by providing structure and visibility, driving alignment and enabling effective decision making across Online and the broader business - Coordinating Quarterly Business Reviews: working with our Business Agility Centre of Excellence, deliver and optimise an always-on approach, driving alignment and setting priorities for the Quarter. Ensuring we have the right set of initiatives on our roadmap to deliver against our organisational OKRs - Leading our Long Term Planning activities and submission, the Annual Plan and ETMC scorecards with central UK teams - Strategic interventions: Partnering with teams across Online to support the delivery of discrete, cross-functional programmes of work in order to land in-year plans. - Delivering high quality strategic insight, analysis and recommendations, using internal and external data sources. Undertaking market analysis and competitor benchmarking to define strategic outcomes that are fully modelled to assess the size of the opportunity alongside potential risks. - Leading Online contribution to business wide governance / compliance, e.g. Risk register / Fraud risk register You will need - Strategy or consulting background - Broad stakeholder management, including at Executive levels - Record of effective joint business planning and delivery of cross-functional initiatives - Project management / PMO experience, ideally in an Online / Retail context - Excellent strategy and proposition development skills, supported by advanced analytical skills and financial acumen - Ability to operate in perids of ambiguity / pivot to new and emerging themes / create clarity for team and senior stakeholders - Understanding of Online business model and economics - Ability to bridge between strategic thinking and pragmatic implementation Whats in it for you?
