Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership - Lead the software engineering team across backend, frontend, DevOps, QA, and mobile. - Define and enforce best practices for scalable, secure, and high-performance software. - Collaborate closely with Product Management, UI/UX, and Business stakeholders. Technical Oversight - Architect, design, and oversee the delivery of high-quality software solutions. - Provide hands-on guidance and code-level direction, especially in Magento, Node.js, and React. - Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and ensure engineering quality gates. Magento & Front-End Development - Spearhead development and optimization of Magento-based eCommerce solutions. - Ensure seamless integration of Node.js and React components with Magento. - Oversee customization, module development, and performance tuning in Magento. Mobile & Cross-Platform Expertise - Provide direction on hybrid mobile app development across iOS and Android. - (Hands-on experience is a strong plus.) DevOps & CI/CD - Own and optimize the CI/CD pipelines, production release cycles, and monitoring. - Ensure automation is embedded in all QA, deployment, and integration pipelines. Team Management & Delivery - Build, grow, and manage a high-performing engineering team. - Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Balance speed of delivery with long-term technical sustainability. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise - Strong foundational background in Software Engineering. - At least 8+ years of hands-on Magento experience, including architecture and team leadership. - 4+ years of development experience in Node.js and React. - Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, modern DevOps practices, and release automation. - Understanding of Hybrid Mobile App Development (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Cordova). Domain Experience - 5+ years in Ecommerce and Retail Tech, including customer experience, storefront performance, and integrations with inventory/ERP systems. Leadership Skills - Proven track record in managing mid-to-large teams (developers, testers, DevOps). - Effective at cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication. - Ability to set direction, coach engineers, and deliver under tight timelines. Soft Skills - Strong communicator and active listener. - Highly organized with a problem-solving mindset. - Adaptable and resilient leader, aligned with business outcomes. Work Arrangement Hybrid Role: A minimum of 3 days per week onsite at the client office is required. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with headless commerce, PWA, or microservices-based ecommerce architectures. - Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or Adobe Commerce Cloud. - Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in fast-paced environments.
