The Role: Merchant Implementation Engineer (LATAM region)
As a Merchant Implementation Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on technical role working directly with merchants to implement our client’s platform. You’ll collaborate with customer technical teams, leverage your API expertise, and ensure seamless integration and onboarding.
How You Will Make an Impact
• Guide customer technical teams through the integration process as the subject-matter expert.
• Onboard merchants and configure the platform based on agreed requirements.
• Use tools such as Postman or curl to support and troubleshoot integrations.
• Run SQL queries to validate configurations and integration data.
• Review logs and error messages to identify and resolve issues.
• Develop and execute onboarding, testing, and launch plans.
• Configure the product suite purchased by the merchant.
• Deliver training to merchant staff to ensure self-sufficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline processes and share best practices.
• Provide ongoing technical support and mentor merchant teams.
• Analyze data and produce reports on onboarding, integration, and performance.
What You’ll Bring
• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in the eCommerce payments ecosystem (PSPs, payment schemes, etc.).
• Strong understanding of payments APIs and technologies such as JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Advanced SQL knowledge.
• Proficiency with Postman API and related tools.
• Experience coordinating end-to-end technical implementation of payment products.
• Expertise in credit card and international alternative payment methods.
• Knowledge of PCI compliance and card scheme mandates.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
• A curious, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for learning and problem-solving.
