About the Role
As an Inventory Planner, you will support the B2B business across all WSI brands. You will partner with B2B sales and operations team to win project bids: analyzing inventory availability, pricing, and margin.
You will proactively analyze reporting and have strong communication and presentation skills to translate our detailed findings to management and cross-functional teams. You will provide transparency of the sales, margin, and inventory impact to B2B brand sales. You will partner cross-functionally with brand planning, B2B operations, design, sales, sourcing, call centers and logistics to ensure we are creating scalable B2B processes and achieve budgeted growth.
Responsibilities
Project bids:
β’ Work closely with cross-functional teams on project bids from inception to order placement.
β’ Provide inventory levels, lead time, costing, and product info for project assortment.
β’ Analyze inventory and margin position to provide strategic bid packages for large projects.
β’ Partner with brand merchants and planners to provide assortment and pricing solutions to potential issues.
β’ Identify process opportunities and points of friction to create more scalable processes and keep up with B2B growth.
β’ Partner with sales, design, and brand teams to identify key assortment strategies to ensure appropriate inventory to support B2B growth.
Reporting
β’ Analyze and communicate the B2B sales mix impact to brand for week prior vs LY vs recent trend.
β’ Analyze trends within brand sales being driven by B2B.
β’ Analyze the impact B2B discounts had on brandβs performance for week/ month vs LY vs trend.
β’ Communicate to brand planning team trends to the dept/ collection/ item level.
β’ Review trends over time to partner with brand on future reorders to support B2B growth.
β’ Analyze B2B Trade (residential clients) vs Contract (commercial clients) by brand. Analyze store vs online sales.
β’ Analyze regional territory performance for the business sales team to reach their weekly and annual goals.
Cross-functional Tasks
β’ Partner with IT, finance, and management to create scalable planning processes.
β’ Partner with finance to publish sales recaps, month end close accounting, and analyze sales trends.
β’ Partner with supply chain to improve delivery timelines and service to clients.
β’ Partner with manager and brand planning to approve large orders pulling from brand inventory.
β’ Partner with brand planning on overstock SKU lists, publish lists to contract sales team to drive brand volume.
β’ Partner with brand planning on pricing for large corporate orders, ensuring any brand margin impact is communicated.
Criteria
β’ Previous experience in retail merchandising or degree in merchandising preferred
β’ Minimum two years of experience in Inventory Management, preferably in e-commerce
β’ Proven ability to objectively interpret data and extract actionable insights that drive the business
β’ Proficiency in retail math and experience managing a traditional open-to-buy
β’ Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable addressing all levels within an organization
β’ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
β’ Proficiency in MS Excel
β’ This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn or San Francisco office
