Role description
We're hiring for 3x Junior Software Developers
• 1x Junior Mobile Engineer (App & White Label Product)
• 1x Junior Frontend Engineer (Eden Ecommerce Product)
• 1x Junior Backend/API Engineer (API & Data Product)
Come and kickstart your software engineering career with us, and join our growing product teams. Whether you're a recent graduate or a self-taught junior developer, we specialise in nurturing early-career engineers - giving you real responsibility, broad exposure, and the mentorship to become a true full-stack engineer.
You won’t be stuck in a corner writing one small component: you’ll ship real features, help shape live products, and grow fast. We love those who are curious, like to grow and aren’t satisfied with just staying put as we constantly evolve and learn and support each other while it happens. You’ll be seated within a product team filled with knowledge, expertise and passionate, friendly individuals who love others learning as much as they like exploring themselves.
The Roles
• Junior Mobile Engineer — App & White Label Product
Salary: £26,500 – £29,000
You'll work on our mobile-first white-label platform supporting digital media (ebooks, audio, courses) and messaging features for partner apps.
Tech focus: Kotlin, Swift, React Native, Expo, Readium
• Junior Frontend Engineer — Eden Ecommerce Product
Salary: £26,500 – £29,000
Help evolve eden.co.uk, the largest Christian retailer in Europe with 250,000+ products ranging from books, bibles, gifts, toys, digital assets and church supplies and equipment. A full stack ecommerce experience.
Tech focus: React, Next.js, PHP, SQL
• Junior Backend/API Engineer — API & Data Product
Salary: £26,500 – £33,000
Power our core APIs, large-scale data pipelines, and analytics systems. Ideal for those who love architecture, automation, and performance.
Tech focus: PHP, SQL, React, data processing, analytics
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need production-level experience — just curiosity, potential, and a willingness to learn. That said, we'd love to see evidence of exploration in any of the following:
Technical Exposure (nice-to-have):
• React / React Native
• PHP / Laravel
• Kotlin / Java
• Next.js / Vercel
• SQL (any dialect, but MySQL highly sought)
• Git / version control
• Automated testing (e.g. Selenium, PHPUnit)
• DevOps / CI pipelines (Gitlab Runners, Docker, etc.)
• Performance optimisation in React (e.g. render cycles, reducing re-renders)
Personal Qualities:
• Logical reasoning and problem-solving mindset
• Empathy for users and an appreciation for good UX
• Accountability — willing to make mistakes, learn, and fix them
• Energy and humility — ready to grow, collaborate, and get stuck in
️
Career Path
After onboarding and successful completion of your 6-month probation, you’ll have the option of moving to a hybrid working model and be guided along a progression path toward mid-level and eventually senior full-stack roles, shaped around your strengths and interests.
Why Join Eden?
• Learner-first environment focused on turning juniors into confident, capable full-stack engineers
• AI-native workflows: You'll be trained in using tools like Cursor, Chat GPT, Claude and v0.dev to supercharge your output while not forgetting the fundamentals of becoming a great engineer in your own right.
• ️Modern tech stack exposure — React, PHP, SQL, React Native, Kotlin, Swift, CI/CD and more
• Full-stack mindset — We don’t do silos. You’ll work across the stack, based on your products needs. You’ll also work closely with others across the business so you’ll get to exposure to many different areas and approaches.
• Latest kit provided — Cutting edge laptop, dual monitor setup, and access to top development tooling.
• ️28 days holiday including bank holidays, growing to 33 with tenure (+3 purchasable days)
• Sociable culture with regular post-work meetups and in-house events
How to Apply
Send us your CV and a brief note about your interests or experience to hr@eden.co.uk — we’d love to see your portfolio, GitHub profile, or side projects if you have them too (but not essential!).
If you’ve not gone through university (maybe straight out of A-levels or a B-Tec?) - don’t feel this is limiting, get in touch and tell us what you love and what you’d love to learn along with what you love exploring in tech.
