Key Account Manager
Have you got a proven track record of managing national multiples?
Do you have extensive knowledge and experience in managing key retail chains?
Can you proactively manage allocated accounts in order to achieve objectives & targets set?
Macgregor Black are partnering with a Market Leading Manufacturer, on the search for a Key Account Manager. This is a permanent position which is Hybrid or On-site depending on location.
As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for driving commercial performance within the Sales function. You will be a critical thinker who is dynamic and positive; your ideas and initiatives will contribute to the success of the team and the company. Excellent organisational, analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills are critical to the role. A previous experience within the DIY, Retail, Hardware and or wider trade space is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding commercial drivers, category dynamics, and challenges to enhance satisfaction, secure loyalty, and drive profitable growth.
• Develop and implement territory/account business plans aligned with company strategy, converting them into measurable sales and margin performance.
• Provide training and support on products to ensure customers understand features, benefits, and correct usage, improving safety, compliance, and productivity.
• Take responsibility for achieving sales targets, margin goals, and related KPIs.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Monitor and report on sales, marketing activities, and account performance; provide timely insights and feedback to management to support strategic planning and budgeting.
• Ensure accurate forecasting, stock availability, and promotional readiness to minimise risk and maximise sell-through.
• Leverage internal and external data to inform account strategies, track growth levers, and drive continuous improvement.
