As a Lead Product Designer at Trainline you will... 🚅
As Lead Product Designer, your challenge will be to support the development of our vision for monetisation and translate it into a world class customer experience.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll explore and validate new disruptive ideas, shipping web & app experiences to accelerate our commercial growth and enhance our value proposition. You'll play a key role in making sure new exciting monetisation initiatives like ads and travel partnerships prioritise user value.
Reporting to Josephine Lie (a seasoned leader in Design, formerly with Meta, Bumble and BBC), you’ll lead design across a 70 strong squad for Monetisation spanning Product, Data, Engineering and Commercial. From partnering with Research on insights, to working on metrics-sizing with Data Science, you’ll understand the power and importance of data to assess the impact of design, and draw insights to optimise an experience, feeding into a larger product strategy. Fearlessly creative, you’ll lead the end-to-end design process delivering innovative features and visually polished solutions, and will directly shape the wider product strategy for Monetisation, and how Trainline sells value to users.
This is a stand out role for someone passionate about product design looking for an opportunity to disrupt and define a product that is changing the way we travel and inspiring millions people all across the UK and Europe to choose more sustainable journeys.

• Established experience leading Product Design or UX strategies
• Experience working directly on commercial, monetisation-related, consumer-focused tech – this could include Advertising & Marketing Tech, eCommerce, or similar. Direct ads experience would be a bonus.
• Proficiency in Figma for day-to-day design work is a must-have. This is a hands-on executional role with an expectation to raise the design quality bar.
• Experience in data-informed experimentation such as A/B or multivariant testing, with a focus on growth or monetisation metrics.
• Experience in visual and interaction design for mobile app as well as responsive web experiences across desktop and mobile.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, fostering an empowering and collaborative design environment.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, adept at conveying concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
• A self-starter mentality with strong collaboration skills with Engineers, Product Managers, and broader business teams.
• Active curiosity about the use of AI tooling to increase the efficiency & effectiveness of workflows and more.
