Manager - Commerce Analytics
The Commerce Analytics team supports the growth of the Commerce team at Conde Nast - a team focused on providing service-based shopping recommendations to our readers. We are seeking a Senior Analyst / Manager of Commerce Analytics to serve as data subject matter expert for the Commerce Analytics team, fully understanding our data's ins & outs, limitations and growth opportunities; working cross-functionally with data engineering, product, and business intelligence to integrate, test, and help productionize commerce data.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly quantitative, who is nimble and creative with the ability to think critically and incorporate data and testing into the decision-making process. Expertise with digital analytic tools is a must. We will prioritize candidates who are curious, motivated and entrepreneurial. This person will be able to utilize technical expertise to ensure data analysis is accurate and high-quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Serve as data subject matter expert for the Commerce Analytics team, fully understanding our data's ins & outs, limitations and growth opportunities
• Apply data mining and information gathering techniques to identify and interpret patterns and trends in affiliate performance
• Complete and present in-depth analyses and data-based recommendations to help grow revenue and traffic
• Work closely with our internal data team as well as third party data providers to improve our data infrastructure and assurance efforts
• Explore relationships between commerce performance data and first-party data to learn more about consumer habits
• Identify opportunities to automate routine and recurring tasks through the coding of scripts and other means
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• 3+ years of working experience in data analytics
• Experience using advanced SQL-based exploratory analytics tools
• Familiarity with Python and R is a plus
• Hands-on experience with reporting and analysis using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mode, Tableau, or similar
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Understanding and concrete practice of statistical concepts
• Passion for new media & technological possibilities with an eager curiosity
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Familiarity with affiliate marketing and/or working at an affiliate network is a plus
• Experience with e-commerce business is a plus
• Strong presentation and communication skills are a must as this role will require collaboration with colleagues and teams who may not be familiar with the team’s subject matter
The expected base salary range for this position is from $100,00-$115,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
