Role Summary The Managing Director, Digital Experience Product Management directs a distributed team responsible for delivering on an inspiring vision and strategy that seamlessly connects our guest to travel while accelerating Alaska Airlines and our family of brands towards our strategic objectives. This senior leadership role will establish a long-term digital product strategy that delivers world-class experiences that are the primary driver for demand and revenue generation, self-service, day of travel and loyalty while supporting multiple brands across global markets. This Managing Director leads a digital department which includes product management, digital experience and martech platforms that drive a multi-billion revenue stream as well as self-service and loyalty experiences for all of our guests. The leader will work with multiple business units across the Commercial organization including Marketing, Guest Products, Loyalty, Alliances, Revenue Management, Revenue Strategy, Guest Care, ITS and Airport Operations. Key Duties • Develops and executes multi-year multi-brand digital product vision & strategy ensuring it aligns with overall company vision and strategy that accelerates the company toward its objectives. • Proven ability to define and execute eCommerce strategies that drive revenue, conversion, and guest satisfaction. Deep understanding of airline digital commerce ecosystems, including architecture, checkout optimization, and payment strategies. • Relentless focus on site and app performance, with a bias for action to eliminate friction and revenue leakage. • Design and implement the strategy and operating model to support a high-performing digital ecommerce ecosystem – instrumenting the digital storefront, enabling experimentation and driving continuous optimization. • Champion of 100% self-service experiences. Understand how to leverage AI, automation, and predictive analytics to proactively resolve customer pain points and deflect contacts. • Partners closely with commercial, operational, engineering and executive leadership to build a well-defined and integrated product roadmap that delivers on the vision. • Coaches and develops people through ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions. • Influences across company and provides recommendations to executive leaders in order to define the vision, goals, and strategies that will enable AAG to excel as an innovator in the travel industry. • Ensures resources are matched with product delivery and product sustaining needs. • Builds and maintains a strong relationship with strategic vendor partners. • Leads a team based in multiple locations. • Owns and manages the department budget and allocates resources to deliver business outcomes. • Owns and manages the product and design budget. • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions • Drive effective practices to build a culture of belonging. • Influence company culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required • A minimum 10 years of experience in product management experience with progressively larger scopes of responsibility • 5 years of people leadership experience • Bachelor’s degree, or willingness to attain a Bachelor’s degree within six years of start date • Knowledge and understanding of product-based delivery, platforms as products and agile product development • Expertise in all aspects of running including product management, product discovery and delivery, product design as well as quantitative and qualitative research • Experience building multi-year product and design strategy that delivers significant business value while lowering structural costs to the organization through digital channels • Deep understanding of all aspects of delivering digital solutions through globally sourced, multi-vendor mode • Proactive leader with a demonstrated ability to oversee a portfolio of complex and transformative products and measure their performance • Extensive experience effectively partnering with executive leaders and affecting business results through digital • Ability to cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals, and operate in an agile fashion • Ability to lead and inspire technology leaders and their teams to achieve their fullest potential • Demonstrated ability to develop a culture of superior customer service • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum age of 18 • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Job-Specific Leadership Expectations • Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. • Inspirational leader who will promote the Alaska values, act with a high sense of urgency, and have unquestionable integrity. • Strong cross-divisional team leader who drives excellence, develops, mentors, and coaches others, and can create excitement around a compelling technology vision in a collaborative, team-oriented fashion. Salary Range $217,350 - $358,650 / year Total Target Compensation Range (incl. Bonus & Equity) $369,495 - $609,705 Salary Details The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
