Role description
About Shed At Shed, we take a holistic approach to addressing the most personal health conditions. By leveraging empowering medications, supplements, and lifestyle interventions, we aim to normalize health for every body. We’re committed to helping people feel confident, supported, and empowered on their health and wellness journeys. About the Role We’re looking for a Marketing Automation Specialist to own the technical backbone of Shed’s lifecycle marketing. This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing automated campaigns in ActiveCampaign to deliver the right message at the right time. You’ll collaborate closely with the Lifecycle Marketing Manager and Senior Email Marketing Coordinator to create sophisticated segmentation, dynamic journeys, and personalized experiences that drive retention, engagement, and loyalty. This is the ideal role for someone who loves the technical and process-driven side of CRM—someone who gets excited about building workflows, troubleshooting integrations, and making automations smarter over time. What You’ll Do • Design, build, and maintain marketing automation workflows (onboarding, winback, reactivation, cross-sell, referral, etc.) in ActiveCampaign. • Manage and optimize CRM integrations across Shed’s tech stack (website, customer portal, billing, product platforms, etc.). • Develop and maintain segmentation frameworks for highly targeted campaigns. • Ensure list health and deliverability best practices (bounce management, suppression rules, compliance with HIPAA and CAN-SPAM/GDPR). • Partner with Lifecycle Marketing Manager on journey mapping and campaign strategy. • Collaborate with the Senior Coordinator and Junior Coordinator to implement automations into the campaign calendar. • Troubleshoot technical issues with workflows, tracking, or data syncing. • Test, measure, and optimize workflows to improve engagement and conversion rates. • Maintain documentation of automation logic and CRM processes. What You Bring • 3–5 years of experience in marketing automation, CRM, or lifecycle marketing. • Hands-on experience in an ESP (ActiveCampaign experience strongly preferred). • Strong understanding of automation logic (branching, conditional rules, dynamic personalization). • Proficiency in data segmentation and list management. • Technical troubleshooting skills (HTML/CSS for email, familiarity with APIs, webhooks, or integrations is a plus). • Detail-oriented mindset with strong QA skills. • Ability to work cross-functionally with creative, product, and engineering teams. • Comfort in fast-paced environments with evolving needs. Bonus Points For • Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant or highly regulated industry. • Knowledge of SMS marketing and integrating multi-channel automations. • Familiarity with customer data platforms (CDPs) or advanced CRM tools. • Experience with SQL, Looker, Tableau, or other BI tools. • Background in health & wellness, ecommerce, or DTC subscription brands. Why This Role Matters The Marketing Automation Specialist ensures Shed’s lifecycle program isn’t just campaigns on a calendar, but a dynamic, data-driven customer experience. This role builds the infrastructure that makes personalization, segmentation, and retention at scale possible—allowing the lifecycle team to drive higher LTV, reduce churn, and deliver a seamless customer journey. Compensation: ~$70,000
