Join a dynamic marketing team where you’ll plan and run multi‑channel campaigns that promote our events, products and online marketplace. This role is ideal for an ambitious graduate or early‑career marketer who wants to take the next step and build hands-on experience in campaign creation, digital marketing and event promotion. You will have ownership of your campaigns but will receive support and guidance from our marketing director and event marketing manager on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver marketing campaigns across email, social media, websites, and print.
• Promotion of events by preparing marketing materials, scheduling posts, and updating event listings. This will include conferences, awards, festivals, webinars and careers fairs, across our construction, healthcare and local government brands. See examples Construction News Events).
• Promotion of online marketplace bringing buyers and sellers together (see Daltons Business) including lead generation for sales and private ecommerce sales.
• Write clear and engaging copy for emails, websites, and event materials.
• Create designs using tools like Canva, and work with external designers on more complex assets.
• Carry out research on audiences, competitors, and trends to improve campaigns.
• Learn to work with key metrics (opens, clicks, conversions) so we can measure results and improve future campaigns.
• Work closely with colleagues in product (event producers), web editor, sales, operations and data teams.
• Assist at events as needed (marketing interviews, live social posts), helping to deliver a professional delegate experience.
• Help keep our marketing databases accurate and up to date, supporting audience growth and long-term engagement.
• Explore new tools (including AI) to make marketing more effective, while always checking outputs for accuracy and quality.
• Contribute ideas and support colleagues to help us reach team goals and deliver excellent events.
Competencies and Personal Specifications:
• Marketing interest: An enthusiasm for marketing with some knowledge or experience of digital, print, and social marketing, as well as content creation or analytics (university, internship, or project experience welcome).
• Collaboration: Ability to work confidently across marketing, product, and sales teams.
• Time management: Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Growth mindset: Willing to learn, take feedback, and apply lessons to improve.
• Problem-solving: Calm under pressure, resourceful, and solutions oriented.
• Technical skills: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and keen to learn CRM and digital marketing tools. Advantage but not essential to have experience using Adestra, Canva, LinkedIn Ads, Lookerstudio, Hootsuite.
• Communication skills: Clear written and verbal ability, with a willingness to develop copywriting and customer communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Degree in marketing, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in digital and/or event marketing through internships, university projects or junior roles is strongly preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with an eye for detail and design
• Ability to analyse data, track campaign metrics and present findings clearly
• Creative thinker with a collaborative, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
