Job Overview
We are seeking an Associate, Marketplace Operations who will support with enhancing the Marketplace experience, including troubleshooting, developing standard SLAs, and identifying platform enhancements that will drive seller success. This individual will leverage their robust analytical skills and deep understanding of Marketplaces to develop, define and drive the operations of our Marketplace across Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. Internally, this individual will work closely with cross functional partners to identify process improvements and drive alignment on new processes and goals. Externally, this role will work directly with our Marketplace platform provider and our sellers to continuously enhance operations and ensure a best-in-class marketplace experience for our sellers and customers.
What You Will Do
Support the Sr. Director, Marketplace Operations in ensuring successful execution of the Marketplace business strategy.
• Set and monitor marketplace KPIs to ensure positive customer and seller experiences
• Establish and continuously improve internal and external processes
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with key 3rd party solution providers to establish communication paths, joint business goals, and operational routines
• Partner with product and technology teams to advocate for roadmap priorities that enhance the marketplace experience
• Develop deep knowledge of the Macy’s brand and customers to ensure the marketplace reflects appropriately.
• Build strong relationships with sellers to boost engagement, retention, and long-term success on the platform.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
Skills You Will Need
E-commerce Knowledge: Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and seller operations, including account setup, product listings, and sales optimization.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to explain complex information clearly and build strong relationships with sellers to drive engagement and retention.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple sellers, categories, and projects simultaneously, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
Problem-Solving: A customer-first mindset with the ability to identify and resolve onboarding issues, ensuring a seamless seller experience.
Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in tools such as Excel, CRM systems like Salesforce, and other e-commerce software, along with experience in configuring payments, shipping, and platform tools.
Training & Support: Ability to provide sellers with ongoing training on platform best practices, product listing optimization, and policy compliance.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, working closely with internal teams (e.g., business development, seller success) to ensure the seller's success beyond onboarding.
Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail for ensuring accurate product listings and maintaining precise records of seller onboarding progress.
Adaptability: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, able to adapt to changing priorities and processes.
Who You Are
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 3+ years of experience in e-commerce platforms and seller operations.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
