Merchandise Planner β Electronics & Components
Position Overview
The Merchandise Planner will play a key role in driving the success of our electronics and components categories by aligning inventory, promotions, and product strategies with business goals. This role combines data-driven planning with vendor and marketing collaboration to ensure optimal product positioning, strong financial performance, and smooth execution of merchandising initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy & Planning
β’ Develop merchandise plans that support sales, margin, and inventory objectives across electronics and components categories.
β’ Translate promotional strategies and campaign goals into inventory and assortment requirements.
β’ Balance inventory levels with demand forecasts to maximize availability and minimize overstock. Work with vendor and logistics team members to ensure stock availability for forecasts and promotions.
Campaign & Promotion Support
β’ Work with marketing team members to support product placement in major campaigns, seasonal promotions, and daily deals.
β’ Align inventory and pricing strategies to ensure successful execution of high-visibility promotions.
Vendor & Supplier Collaboration
β’ Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely product availability, negotiate funding support, and align on promotional initiatives.
β’ Track vendor commitments and measure ROI of vendor-funded programs.
Market & Sales Analysis
β’ Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and category performance to identify opportunities for growth.
β’ Provide actionable insights on assortment gaps, pricing strategies, and customer demand at various price points.
Content & Product Accuracy
β’ Ensure product information, images, and promotional details are accurate and optimized on all selling platforms.
Forecasting & Reporting
β’ Build and maintain demand forecasts, sales projections, and inventory reporting tools.
β’ Evaluate performance of promotions, sales velocity, and category health, providing regular updates to leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
β’ Work closely with marketing, operations, and analytics teams to align merchandising strategies with overall company objectives.
β’ Support promotional calendar development and execution with data-backed recommendations.
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field; or equivalent experience.
β’ 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or category analytics (electronics or consumer tech preferred).
β’ Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
β’ Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, digital marketing tactics (PLA, SEM, Sponsored Ads), and online merchandising best practices.
β’ Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
