Role description
Elizabeth Lamont, a Pacific Palisadesβbased interior design studio, retail shop, and DTC ecommerce store, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Merchandising Buyer (Website + Store). This role requires expertise in Shopify and a strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and digital marketing. The ideal candidate will manage product sourcing, inventory, and curation while ensuring our online and in-store experiences are optimized for customer engagement and sales growth.
Responsibilities
Retail Operations & SOPs
β’ Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline retail processes, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless customer experiences.
β’ Coordinate/Execution of product sourcing, purchasing (write purchase orders), and inventory management (Reorder).
β’ New order placement and tracking.
β’ Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability on the site and proactively manage out-of-stock items.
β’ Work closely with suppliers, managing relationships, and ensuring timely product deliveries.
β’ Responsible for the selection, sourcing, and purchasing of products for both e-commerce and the physical retail space.
β’ Manage ordering merchandise for events.
Merchandising & Curation
β’ Curate collections in collaboration with our CEO, based on seasonal trends, customer preferences, and brand direction.
β’ Optimize product assortments, ensuring that top-selling items are available and promoted.
β’ Manage product placement on the website, adjusting as needed to highlight new arrivals or high-performing items.
E-Commerce Management
β’ Analyze sales, inventory, and customer data to make data-driven decisions that improve product offerings and business operations.
β’ Use analytics tools to track website performance, sales trends, and customer engagement.
β’ Oversee order processing, ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped in a timely manner.
β’ Oversee product uploads, descriptions, and SEO optimization to improve visibility and sales performance. (20 hrs a wk).
β’ Manage Shopify product pages, ensuring that products are accurately listed, priced, and categorized.
Marketing Collaboration
β’ Collaborate with the marketing team to align product offerings with promotional campaigns and seasonal marketing strategies.
β’ Work with the marketing team to identify priority products and themes for promotion across social media, email campaigns, and Meta ads.
β’ Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure discounts and promotional sales are accurately set up in Shopify.
β’ Develop SEO-optimized product descriptions and marketing materials to drive organic traffic.
β’ Create and manage product collections tailored to specific sales, seasons, and campaigns.
β’ Partner with the website agency/developer to maintain a user-friendly, visually consistent, and well-organized site that supports an optimal shopping experience.
Qualifications
β’ Advanced knowledge of Shopify, including discount setup, product/collection management, and merchandising best practices.
β’ Experience with Amazon fulfillment & getting products approved on Amazon website, sending product in, managing performance.
β’ Experience collaborating with web developers or agencies to optimize online shopping experiences.
β’ Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (social media, email, Meta ads) and how to align e-commerce strategies with campaign goals.
β’ Experience in e-commerce, retail merchandising, or product buying.
β’ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace.
β’ Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
β’ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment.
