Job Overview:
The Merchandising Manager is responsible for developing and implementing merchandise plans to optimize inventory, sales, and profitability across all product categories. The Planning Merchandise Manager works closely with the Design, Finance and Commercial teams to analyze data, forecast demand, and make strategic recommendations to achieve financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer demand to develop detailed merchandise plans for assigned product categories
• Prepare sales forecasts, inventory targets, and open-to-buy budgets to align with the company's overall business objectives
• Determine appropriate product assortments, sizing, and replenishment strategies
• Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve stock productivity, minimize markdowns, and maximize sell-through
• Provide regular reporting and presentations to senior management on category performance, inventory health, and recommended actions
• Utilize data analytics tools to generate insights and support data-driven decision making
• Coordinate with marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and promotions
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, retail, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or retail operations
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities to influence cross-functional team members
• Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficient in Retail Math and Microsoft Excel.
• Keen understanding of retail trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
