As the Manager of Marketplace & 3rd party sellers, you will lead the total strategy and execution of our online marketplace platform, overseeing a team tasked with defining category strategies, expanding our product assortment, optimizing seller performance, and enhancing the customer experience. You will also lead the digital roadmap strategy and lead a team that plans and deploys enhancements and new capabilities for the marketplace (Meijer.com & Meijer mobile apps). Your leadership will be critical in positioning Meijer’s marketplace as a key component of our digital transformation strategy while achieving aggressive topline and bottom-line results. What You'll Be Doing β€’ Responsible for the P&L of the entire 3P Marketplace business with expectations of achieving ambitious revenue and profitability goals β€’ Lead the efforts to evangelize the importance and success of the Marketplace business both before and after launch β€’ Partner with 1P Merchandising desks to ensure alignment on strategies as we evolve both our 1P merchandising and 3rd party marketplace strategies. β€’ Successfully recruit, hire, and retain top talent to fill key positions within the org. Develop the long term strategic org necessary to scale the marketplace for sustained success. β€’ Develop, own, and execute the end-to-end strategic plan of the Marketplace including setting and achieving key KPIs and growth targets β€’ Create a robust seller recruitment strategy and identify key vendors and partners to onboard to meet category and SKU goals. This also must be done in close alignment & partnership with our internal merchandising buying desks. (Over 100 sellers to be onboarded within the first year) β€’ Own the partnership with our Marketplace technology partner and ensure Meijer is leveraging the full capabilities of the platform and expertise β€’ Identify and track key performance management metrics and create robust reporting to ensure actions are taken to improve performance across the business β€’ Ensure seamless integration of marketplace offerings with Meijer’s existing eCommerce platform and brick-and-mortar operations. β€’ You will routinely present business & planning updates to senior and executive level leaders β€’ Use data-driven insights to continuously improve the Marketplace platform and our overall digital user experience. β€’ Create and execute a marketing and communications strategy in partnership with Meijer functional SMEs to help generate seller leads, educate consumers / drive traffic, and enable Meijer associates Partner closely with key cross-functional teams who will be critical to the team’s success (i.e. legal, finance. HR, supply chain, store ops, etc.) What You'll Bring With You β€’ Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred β€’ 5+ years of experience in retail. Must have experience working within either Merchandising or eCommerce β€’ Experience in managing teams, either directly or through project/contractor teams. β€’ Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and scaling operations in a fast-paced digital retail environment. β€’ Strong understanding of the ecommerce ecosystem of vendors, manufacturers, distributors, etc. β€’ Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable plans. β€’ Outstanding leadership and team management abilities, with experience building and motivating high-performing teams. β€’ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. β€’ Experience in vendor negotiations and partnership development. β€’ Familiarity with e-commerce technologies, platform integration, and digital marketing strategies. β€’ Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and adapt to rapidly changing market conditions.
