Role description
This role supports the growth of a multi-brand eCommerce business, developing products that compete directly with names like Dyson, Shark, and Samsung — across home, lifestyle, and personal care categories.
With over £100M in annual revenue and operations in more than 15 countries, the business owns a portfolio of best-selling brands sold globally. As a New Product Development Specialist, you’ll help identify untapped product opportunities, define clear specifications, and work closely with international teams to bring commercially viable products to life.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that combines structured research, competitor analysis, and stakeholder coordination. You’ll play a key part in ensuring every product is well-understood, clearly positioned, and ready to succeed.
What you’ll be doing
• Researching market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor products to spot opportunities.
• Monitoring sales data, reviews, and pricing to identify gaps or underserved needs.
• Supporting the scoring and shortlisting of ideas using structured frameworks and insights.
• Defining clear product concepts and specifications — including feature sets, technical requirements, target costs, and packaging.
• Coordinating with China-based sourcing teams to clarify development priorities, specifications, and timelines.
• Reviewing product samples and technical tests, identifying and escalating issues where needed.
• Working closely with teams across QA, Design, Purchasing, Marketing, Trading, and Operations to keep development on track.
• Helping prepare internal materials for product launch — including spec sheets, image briefs, and positioning input.
• Tracking product performance after launch, gathering data to recommend improvements or extensions.
• Maintaining and updating the internal roadmap of active and potential product opportunities.
What we’re looking for
• At least 3 years’ experience in product development, buying, or merchandising within consumer goods.
• Naturally curious about customer behaviour and trends, with a commercial mindset.
• Analytical and methodical — able to turn research into actionable recommendations.
• Experience working with international sourcing or manufacturing teams.
• Passionate about physical products, with an eye for great design and customer value.
• Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed.
• Proactive, detail-focused, and able to work at pace without losing accuracy.
What you’ll get
• Hybrid working in London
• 33 days’ holiday (including UK bank holidays)
• Healthcare cash plan (post-probation)
• Employee discounts across all brands
• Cycle to Work scheme
• Regular team socials and a collaborative, supportive culture
This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of a thriving, international business — delivering products that customers value and competitors respect. If you enjoy combining research, creativity, and cross-team collaboration to get products right, we’d like to hear from you.
