Position: Omnichannel Integration Architect (Retail IT Software)
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Day 1 Onsite) 4 days/week (MondayβThursday)
Duration: Long Term
Rate: $65/hr on C2C
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Own and drive end-to-end omnichannel architecture across eCommerce, POS, mobile apps, social commerce, CRM, ERP, WMS, OMS, and payment systems.
β’ Design and implement API-first, microservices-based architectures to enable seamless customer experiences across channels.
β’ Integrate legacy retail systems (POS, ERP, loyalty, pricing engines) with cloud-native and SaaS platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Retail, Oracle Retail, Manhattan Associates, Shopify Plus, or Dynamics 365.
β’ Architect real-time inventory visibility, order orchestration, and fulfillment optimization across multiple touchpoints.
β’ Build scalable event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud-native streaming solutions for high-volume transaction systems.
β’ Partner with data engineering and AI/ML teams to enable personalized recommendations, dynamic pricing, and fraud detection.
β’ Ensure PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other regulatory compliance across omnichannel systems, including secure payment gateway integrations and fraud management solutions.
β’ Lead performance engineering efforts for peak retail events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, holiday sales) ensuring zero downtime, elastic scalability, and low-latency performance.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to translate retail strategies into technical solutions.
β’ Evaluate and implement next-gen retail technologies (headless commerce, composable commerce, AR/VR shopping, voice commerce, AI-powered chatbots).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
β’ 10+ years of experience in retail IT software, with at least 5+ years in omnichannel architecture and integration.
β’ Proven expertise in API design, microservices, middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, TIBCO, Informatica, or Apigee).
β’ Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Hands-on integration experience with POS, OMS, ERP, CRM, WMS, and eCommerce platforms in a global retail environment.
β’ Deep knowledge of event-driven and real-time systems (Kafka, Spark Streaming, or similar).
β’ Strong understanding of retail data models β products, pricing, promotions, inventory, customer loyalty, order lifecycle.
β’ Experience implementing security, compliance, and governance in retail integration landscapes.
β’ Demonstrated success in large-scale, multi-country retail rollouts.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage C-level executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience with Headless / Composable Commerce frameworks.
β’ Knowledge of AI/ML applications in retail (recommendation engines, predictive analytics, demand forecasting).
β’ Familiarity with emerging retail technologies (edge computing for stores, IoT devices, smart checkout, AR/VR shopping).
β’ Prior experience in a consulting or retail technology transformation program.
