About The Role
The purpose of the Online Trade Executive role is to support the divisional Trading Manager in maximising online sales and profitability through strategic management of product assortments and promotions, collaborating cross-functionally to align trading strategies with business goals and enhance the customer experience. This role is an FTC until February 2026.
Key Responsibilities -
β’ Support the divisional trading manager to achieve the trading KPI's
β’ Manage day-to-day website activity, product launches, proposition changes and content
β’ Optimise site and customer journey during daily site walks and data analysis
β’ Use merchandising tools to improve on-site navigation, search, customer journey, taxonomy, basket building techniques and product placement
β’ Ensuring all product data, categorisation, filtering and meta-data is present and correct to drive effective SEO optimised website and conversion
β’ Drive onsite promotion planning, promotions and extended range that complement the offering to increase sales, conversion rates, AOV and margin
β’ Support the Online Trading Manager to analyse opportunities and trends to improve customer journey, range and price by working closely with the commercial teams
β’ Analyse and improve merchandising on the site and produce relevant reports using Google Analytics and Power BI
β’ Collaborating with marketing and design/digital experience teams effectively to ensure website content and communication is effectively displayed and consistent
β’ Build relationships with commercial teams to execute promotions, range changes, opportunities and report on category performance
β’ Assisting to deliver the promotional calendar, by coordinating with traffic driving marketing activities such as email, search/SEO, social media, and other digital marketing channels
β’ Own and create action plans from site usage and campaign performance, including but not limited to category performance, quality of search, and promotional/event performance; develop and explore new analytics to further understand site performance and usage
About You
β’ Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyse data, trends, and metrics to make informed decisions and drive trading strategies.
β’ E-commerce knowledge: Understanding of online retail principles, including merchandising, pricing, promotions, and customer journey optimization.
β’ Technical proficiency: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), and analytical tools such as Google Analytics.
β’ Communication skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and influence stakeholders.
β’ Commercial awareness: Understanding of market trends, competitor analysis, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for growth.
β’ Attention to detail: Thoroughness in managing product data, website content, and promotional campaigns to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
β’ Problem-solving abilities: Capability to identify issues, propose solutions, and adapt strategies to overcome challenges in a dynamic online retail environment.
β’ Time management: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and achieve trading objectives.
β’ Teamwork: Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues from various departments, including marketing, merchandising, and IT, to achieve common goals.
β’ Experience: Previous experience in e-commerce, online trading, or related roles is typically beneficial, preferably with a proven track record of driving sales and profitability.
